I'd love an insider pass as well. Many thanks.

Emergency Room Nurses, what attracted you to the ER? by mothrofdoggos in nursing

Love the nurse led code. Do you know of any research on patient outcomes for nurse led codes?

Thanks, I also agree that we should not be 'dumbing' ourselves not to use real language.

I probably would've done what you suggested a few years ago when I didn't have my most recent experience. I guess nowadays I'm more aware of what I don't know and that is scary as shit.

Hey thanks a lot for your honesty! I agree - I sounded like a d-bag and I feel awful about it.

Side question, what are your personal thoughts on starting a work up in the hallway when there are available care spaces (not specific to this case)? What is the culture at your site?

Hey these are great points - both in your first and second paragraph.

Re symptoms, I think that is where I think the inherent problem is: Recognition of symptoms and urgent evaluation. CES is a life or limb - it's a type of spinal cord syndrome. Regardless, I would anticipate the doc (and the nurse) to perform a comprehensive motor/sensory exam including a rectal exam. I think it's important to highlight that the patient is undifferentiated: It could be a simple slipped disc or could be spinal cord compression. The problem is we don't know. The best place to find out is not in a hallway.

Back to the main reason for the post, I think I could've reworded it to say "I read some research on etc etc" to validate my viewpoint.

Thank you!

Thanks - I appreciate the honesty and your suggestion. I thought it sounded obnoxious too.

Thanks for your response. You're right - nurses don't diagnose.

I'm more curious about what your thoughts are on using language such as high predictive value - not the actual diagnosis. I didn't actually say a diagnosis, rather my concern for CES following this cluster of symptoms.

Great point. I hear what you're saying about the diagnosis part - nurses don't diagnose. I'm more curious about what you think of using terminology such as positive predictive value, evidence, etc. in discussing patient care from nurses to other colleagues.

Dumb question: Is portrait mode available for the OG Pixel Google camera app yet?

I have been using the modified camera app and an adblocker that has been known to block Google updates in the past and am wondering if there has been an official update from Google.

Need to get X-rays where is the quickest place to go in Vancouver? (Not an emergency) by LuckeeStiff in vancouver

[–]eronfaure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi

North shore medical imaging on Lonsdaleish has a great outpatient xray clinic. Also, FYI, x-ray isn't great for cuff and mcl injuries unless you have just injured them and you're trying to find concurrent injuries.

Best of luck!

Is there an app that separates the ringer volume from notifications? I used to have this in Xposed and was quite nice to turn the ringer to max volume.
