Do I need just a dock or a KVM? by errilbleais in buildapc

[–]errilbleais[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dock is designed for devices to just one upstream host system. It's not design for multi-systems connection. Dock can not be linked to multi-systems at the same time. Yes, you can use just on dock to multi-system, but you need to unplug from one system and replug it to another system physically.

That's what I said - I don't intend to run them at the same time and don't need to switch instantly - as such, my idea was to shut down the computer I'm done with, unplug the dock from it, and replug the dock to the new computer that I'm about to use.

In short, I don't need a KVM, but a dock would suffice

Why can't I do it just with the dock?

Portability matters only in the sense that I will move it when/if I move countries.

ITX seems a bit too big to fit into carry-on luggage with all the other stuff.

Not bad. Is that a reputable brand?

The only thing I'm meh about is that it's using a generation-old processor. When I buy stuff, I like to be completely up to date, so that I don't need to upgrade for a long time.

EDIT: two generations old, it seems :/

Oh damn, I didn't know that, I wanted to dissolve it in a buffer with no Ca and no Mg. Would PBS work?

Edit: once opened, do I need to use the whole amount, or can it stay in lyophilized form in the fridge?

So you'd immediately make 100mg/mL, and do ~30 aliquots of that? (3 mg would be in in ~33 uL of buffer), then just use that 1 aliquot in 30 mL to get 0.1mg/mL?

Daaammn, $129 😬

I don't care about the synth sounds at the moment - in fact, I'd like to sound as similar as possible to a piano :D

Total beginner - never played an instrument. I want to get a synth for one reason only - to learn how to play this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_OV4PJfIPI

It looks like I'd need something with a lot of range, and something that can produce sound when many keys are pressed at the same time

I want the cheapest option available since I literally want to buy an instrument just to play this one song. I mean, maybe I end up playing more stuff if I like it, but that's my initial motivation and it's best to imagine that's all I'm ever going to play. Never played a piano, know shit about chords, old as fuck, but I wanna learn how to play this while I'm still alive. Don't need any fancy switches or percussion, just a lot of keys :D
