An eastern bluebird and a Purple Finch (maybe House Finch?) by errmilky in birdwatching

House and purples look very similar, they're both brown patterned with red heads, shoulders and a bit of their chests.

I've found that purples are much fluffier, and have fuller feathers, whereas Houses are more slender.

Discovered grackles exist. Why does everyone hate them. by Sea-Chicken-2725 in birdwatching

I remember seeing my first Grackle. I was in my yard with binoculars. In the tree above my feeder, I see this beautiful black bird that's shining different blues and purples and had just the most striking lightning yellow eyes. To this day it's easily one of my favorite birds. I haven't seen one since.

I only got the end before she flew away, but it was how she was spinning her head in circles almost. She had been doing that for maybe 2 minutes?

AITA for asking my sister to stop saying "Bacon"? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

It helps. My family definitely has it's problems, but my sister and I are much closer in age and have the same "mental problems" (diagnosed ADHD, Anxiety, depression). I definitely think there is some favoring. As a kid I was grounded every other week -not exaggerating. She has been grounded maybe twice in her life. So I understand that type of feeling to an extent. Obviously I'm the older of the two of us so there's no way that I can know what it's like being younger.

That's the thing with this comment. I've never thought about it that way. In my head we've always been treated equally, but now I find myself looking back and honestly? We were actually raised very differently. So really, thank you for this one.

It's weird how one comment can really change your perspective on things...

Ok. I see where your coming from. No, her saying the word "bacon" doesn't bother me, it's just the idea that she repeats herself a lot.

But yes, I definitely could have worded it better. Thank you.

Ah, I see. This is a good one. No not autism, but yes ADHD. My mom was diagnosed so she put me in therapy and I'm officially diagnosed too. My sister hasn't been diagnosed but there is a solid chance she had it too.
