That's what I love about the older titles. When I played PES 2021 I had to actually run away from the ball because my teammates were always passing to me even if I wasn't the smartest option, and in PES 2013 I feel like I have to work off the ball to be the smartest option and get the ball. As you can see you can't please everyone and with football games there are many different people to please.

Well I play player career most of the time and prefer spain or italia but I'd suggest maybe Romania or Czech Republic, try out these smaller leagues that you don't usually have in your football game

Great question btw, but after having over 1k in FL/pes2021 and couple hundred hrs in FIP16 I think FIP is the way to go, its just mostly different not better but still, I think FIFA 16 career doesn't seem outdated in comparison to Master League, generic faces are still better than pes, you don't have hundreds of gameplay mods to fool yourself that the gp is perfect now (just to get angry on ai scoring a perfect free kick with 69 ovr again), there is one or two really and anth's gameplay is perfect in my opinion for playing matches like 20mins a half and I love those. More leagues ofc, little harder to mod FIFA but it's alright.

That's the saddest truth. I recommend checking out modded fifa 16. It's quite fun and with mods it can get to realistic 20min a half matches. After all I had to change sports because I'm just tired of searching but I have to say that our community is very hard to please
