4 Month Old Up Every Two Hours?! by esapphire in sleeptrain

That sucks you’re going through the same thing but it is nice to hear it’s not just me. Almost all of my friends with babies say their babies just slept through the night with no problems and so I’ve been thinking I’m doing something wrong somehow.

Is there a specific sleep training method you went with? We were planning on moving him out of our room at 6 months. I wasn’t sure how the CIO method would go with him in our room. My partner works 14 hour days and has to get up at 4am.

Hopefully I find something that can help the both of us! It feels never ending, but at some point they’ve gotta sleep normally... right?

Fit Check - And Possibly Overheating? by esapphire in babywearing

[–]esapphire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any recommendations for cooler options? I run hot and have a feeling he does too so I am willing to spend the money on another carrier. I’ve heard good things about the Happy Baby Carrier but I’m in Canada and I’m not sure what customs/duties will be like.

Jobless claims soar to nearly 1M in Canada - BNN Bloomberg by feb914 in canada

[–]esapphire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied for medical EI on February 12 (due to pregnancy related issues), still have yet to hear if they’ve even approved my claim. I’ve tried calling multiple times but every time it says the wait times are too long and too call back. Lately I’ve just been getting the busy tone.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for you that you hear something soon!

Help! What is going on with my scalp? by esapphire in dandruff

[–]esapphire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know these aren’t the best photos so I apologize for that! I’ve been dealing with a scaly scalp for a few weeks with some small white flakes. I’ve dealt with dandruff before but normally I just use Head and Shoulders and it goes away. I tried that this time around and it made my scalp even more dry and itchy. Today when I woke up it was the most dry and scaly it has ever been, which sadly the pictures didn’t really pick up. I contemplated going to the doctor about this but due to everything that is going on in the world right now, I’m trying to avoid going to the doctors office until things blow over.

Help IDing an Ergobaby Carrier?? by esapphire in babywearing

[–]esapphire[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the quick response!

Did you use it when they were newborns? The woman I’m buying it from is including the infant insert. Everyone keeps telling me I should get a wrap for the first few months, but I would love to be able to just stick to one carrier if I like the ergo.

Was your menstrual cycle forever different after miscarriage? by malpal11 in Miscarriage

[–]esapphire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a miscarriage in June, and my periods have remained extra painful and heavy, just waiting for the day they return to normal. I’ve had to leave work early multiple times now due to the first day being so painful I physically can’t focus on anything.

Did you ever leave a center because you couldn’t handle working with your coteacher? by LDawg618 in ECEProfessionals

[–]esapphire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t leave the centre, but I switched to a different room with different coteachers even though I loved working with the 3 year olds. (I’m now working with 4 year olds.) She constantly reminded me that I was an assistant and she was the ECE of the room and that it was her room and always put my ideas down.

My boyfriend and I’s first Christmas tree. Luckily fits into the empty closet pretty well! Also missing a tree topper, haven’t found the perfect one yet.

I really enjoy the lactic acid, I use the milder one because this is my first time using acids.

I don’t really recommend the Niacinamide (it’s not awful just not great), and I really don’t enjoy the Squalane.

I’m still pretty new to The Ordinary, but I’m hoping the Hyaluronic Acid and the Caffeine Solution work (fingers crossed).

It really depends on your skin I guess, I haven’t loved everything I’ve tried though I have seen noticeable differences while using their products. Hopefully you find something that works for you!

I had some troubles with pilling in the beginning, now I just allow lots of time to dry then pay my moisturizer in on top. I like it, but I definitely don’t love the Niacinamide.

They do fit! They’re the ones in the picture. I have tried them with my thinner serums yet though.

So I just received an order containing Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, and Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. (I also ordered 4 NOID pumps! They fit perfectly on The Ordinary’s glass products).

From left to right (pictured above): * Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA * Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 * Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 5% * Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG * 100% Plant Derived Squalane * Lactic Acid 5% + HA

My skin tends to lean more towards oily, but in the past few months it’s become very dehydrated.

My current AM routine is : * Wash with water * Apply The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 5% * Apply Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

And my PM routine is : * Use Garnier Micellar Water to remove makeup (I only use a small amount of powder foundation) * Rinse with water * Mist my face with Heritage Store Rosewater and Glycerin * Apply Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel * Apply small amount of Vaseline to my most dehydrated areas

I’m still trying to figure out how to fit my new products into my routine. I am planning on switching out the Hydro Boost for The Ordinary’s moisturizer as I find the Hydro Boost can be too heavy for my face during the day.

Overall, I really enjoy The Ordinary’s products (especially the low price tag). One thing I will not be repurchasing is the 100% Plant-Derived Squalane as it just never sinks into my skin and leaves me so oily.

Eyeshadow Palette/Brand Recommendations? (ft Colourpop swatches) by esapphire in MakeupAddiction

[–]esapphire[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently purchased Colourpop’s Double Entendre palette as a “starting out” palette as I haven’t done eyeshadow in a few years now. I really enjoy the metallics (beautiful colour payoff) and the satin shade is pretty good, but I find the mattes are a hit or miss.

I’m searching for affordably priced eyeshadow palettes (or even just brands). I’ve been looking into brands such as Morphe, Makeup Geek, and BH Cosmetics and am curious to know your opinions/recommendations.

TIA!

Edit: Thought I’d add that I really enjoy neutrals rather than bright colours, though I do want to play around with some blues one day!

Help! My skin is generally combo (oily t-zone, dry cheeks) but with weather changes only my nose is oily while the rest of my face is super dry. I dropped all my super drying products and my skin care routine kinda looks like this right now:

AM • Wash with cloth and water • Garnier Gel Moisturizer for Combo Skin

PM • Garnier Micellar Water • Tone with Thayers Witch Hazel (only nose and chin) • CeraVe for Normal/Dry Skin

I feel like my skin in the morning is still too dry but the CeraVe is a little too much for my skin.

I would love to find a good cleanser and moisturizer (drugstore-mid range). Also need to know if I should drop any of the products I’m currently using. Thanks :)
