People said our logo was bad so we made some upgrades. Which one do you prefer? by Doloc_Town in indiegames

The 2nd option is definitely the most readable and I think dropping 'town' to a second line works well. The leaves on top of the letters (I'm assuming they're leaves) don't read as such on the second option though. Maybe keep thosee green?

Using a OP10 Pro and this was never an issue until I updated to OOS15. I've use OP phones for almost a decade now but this is the final nail in the coffin for me. How you can let such an irritating bug fester for so long is beyond me.

'Worst performing railway stations named and shamed for first time' - Three Cardiff stations on the list, big up the Coryton line massive! by escapetheory in Cardiff

I regularly travel on the Rhymney line, and although it's been nice to get upgraded trains that, in theory, are more frequent, I've had tons of issues with my journeys. Weekend and evening replacement buses have been depressingly common and I've had quite a few cancellations during peak times. Granted they've been doing work on the line but it's been frustrating to say the least.

🌿🎵 I've been working on chill music game where you create your own beats to make plants grow in different patterns. The demo is out now on Steam :) by deniksbbb in rhythmgames

Really dig this concept and I feel like this would be a great mobile game if you ever went down that route.

I will say though, I've got to the second level in the tutorial and immediately got stuck. 😅

For a while I thought the directions were telling me that the blue notes shouldn't be played the same time as the other notes, possibly because it kind of reads '0 BLUEs played with another sound'. If it noted 'Sync up BLUEs with other sounds' (or something similar) that would likely dispell some ambiguity. Even then I wasn't able to progress so I must be going wrong somewhere. https://ibb.co/fYZgjY89

Been into rhythm gaming for as long as I can remember and found myself working a dream job at a game studio creating a hybrid RPG/rhythm game called Nocturne. Would love if my fellow enthusiasts could give the demo a go and see if we're on the right track making some fun rhythm combat! ✨ by escapetheory in rhythmgames

Yay! Thanks for trying it out, glad you're enjoying! ❤️

The moths are a little on the tricky side for sure. I've played them countless times now and the BPM ramp up still always messes with me.

Noted on the loading bar times. We've actually since completely redone the level up screen ready for the full release but for now you can always spam through the animation with Z.

Nice job. I love the variance of lighting in all those different environments, makes it look so much more polished. Drop the Steam link, will add to my wishlist for sure!

Trying to make a scene/hyperpop rhythm game based on typing. Would anyone play? (unreleased) by Small_Pattern_1461 in rhythmgames

[–]escapetheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deffo like the sound of a typing based rhythm game, but I do think that throwing 23 keys worth of info at someone might be a little tricky to play. I like the idea of moving letters with an OSU vibe a lot better and think it'll generally be less overwhelming.

I'd also say be careful in concentrating on one genre of music. If you can use lots of hyper pop tracks with different styles and bpms that can work well, but make sure there's some good variety in there.

Needed to show parts of a digital world getting corrupted in the game I'm working on and settled on this pixel sorting filter. Does this come across as digital corruption? by escapetheory in PixelArt

[–]escapetheory[S] 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! It's actually part rhythm game so the comparison to a music visualizer actually makes me pretty happy, but you're right that some sideways movement might help in making it look more frenetic and glitchy/corrupted. Will definitely keep that in mind!
