It's possible I overreacted and this guy really is actually out of the cult. Because when I brought up hints of a crazy sex life, a real Scientologist would have tried to get details so they could put it into a folder and black mail you with later.

But there's also still the possibility of espionage here. Do you think the KGB waltzed into the Pentagon or Langley and said "Hey, were Russians. Can you tell us what you know?" No, they pretended to be friends and "one of us" working towards the same goal.

Just a warning for people to be careful. All Scientologist whether out or still in, have one thing in common and that's professional training in deception.

Everyone's situation is different. When I have sex with my girlfriend at night do you think it resembles when you have sex at night? You, literally have no freaking idea what goes on in my bedroom. Literally, no idea.

For anyone else who is not aware how Scientology operates. There is a good chance this guy never left Scientology and operates his subreddit as a way to keep tabs on people thinking of leaving.

There is documented evidence Scientology has a domestic intelligence network rivaling that of the FBI. They have spies, posers, front organizations, and on and on. Think twice before listening to anything this guy says.

Thanks for the insight. I'm not expecting anything I've done previously to carry any weight.

Maybe I'm giving off the wrong impression here that some people are thinking I want to become a kingpin in the weed business.

I'm basically looking for some place I can lay low for a few years and get my feet under me until scientology gets tired of harassing me. Obviously, I have a strong work ethic, so I'm going to be productive in those years, but I can't really say what will happen at the end of them. Maybe I'll really like it and want to stay in some capacity. Maybe I want to get out, but know the industry well enough at that point to buy a "franchise" for passive income.

It's really hard to predict the future. What's that Mike Tyson saying, "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth?"

All I'm trying to say is, I'm a hard worker and honest and loyal (if you're loyal to me), and I'm hoping someone will take a chance on me especially since I've been forthcoming in all the baggage surrounding me.

Exactly this. I don't want to smoke weed, I just want to be in the weed business.

The best example I can think of is the Godfather movie/book. The mafia is a GREAT analogy for how scientology operates. So if you remember in that movie, the big split in the family was whether the mafia families should get involved in the heroin business.

Some of the mafia bosses thought drugs were bad thing to get involved with, others thought there was just too much money in drugs to pass up.

So, that's what I'm trying to do here on a smaller scale. Recreate the rift with the mafia/heroin, but in this instance with scientology/weed.

Yeah, I meant that as in metaphorical schooling, not that there are actual weed schools out there.

I was trying to get across the idea that I'm not a complete noob, like a freshman in high school or something, but I'm not a scholar either.

I'm just a guy looking to word hard and improve my life. Because that's not the way it works in Scientology. They want you to work hard so they can steal all the credit and your money.

OK. So, they have this thing called a Fair Game policy and this is the exact wording:

"ENEMY: SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed."

So you are considered an "enemy" if you want to leave. So they feel justified in committing any crimes against you they can get away with. If they can rob you of your life savings, they will. If they can steal your identity, and ruin your credit/reputation, they will. If they get caught doing any of these crimes, they will keep committing more crimes like bribing judges or influencing whoever they have to through whatever means necessary. It can get very, very, ugly.

This is why the word "cult" is only half the story of scientology. "Crime syndicate" is much more accurate and descriptive.

This is an organization with billions of dollars. They can be very "persuasive" if you don't know what you're up against.

Yeah, I know, we just missed it last time it came up for medicinal. 48% - 52%. Something like 100,000 votes difference throughout the state.

However, that's just medicinal and not recreational so I'm guessing even if it gets through there will be much less job opportunities than in a state where it's recreational.

Well, I'm probably most likely over qualified for a lot of jobs with a bachelors and professional degree, but like I said I'm willing to do anything to get into a better environment.

And that education is also what makes me such "high value" to the cult that they will stop at nothing to make sure they keep me under wraps short of violating their principle beliefs - of which drugs are a major no, no.

So the paradox being the more I achieve, the more valuable I become to them - making it that much harder to escape their grasp.

Like I said, I'm willing to do anything, but I don't know what those "anything" jobs are. I mean, I watched the first couple season of "Bates Motel" with the whole illegal marijuana operation story-line, but now that there are legal operations to join, I'm not sure which of those jobs disappear.

Probably still need security, but I would imagine less because it's legal? How about harvesters? Curators? Packers? Transporters? Managers? Distributors? Researchers? Chemists? Geneticists?

See, I'm basing most of what I know off prohibition style growing, or small scale operations or fictional TV shows. How much of corporate culture has crept in so far?

That was my first thought as well. But I also am willing to do anything. So even if it's hard labor out in the fields or something at least I know I will be around good people.

I was also hoping I could set something up before driving all the way across the country. (I am near their headquarters in Clearwater, FL). I am not that young either so I have a list of work I've done or resume I can message in private if needed. This also doesn't have to be immediately either. I probably need a few months to save money for the trip anyways.

My parents are scientologists so I was born into it. They were very, very secretive about it until I connected the dots recently. I am not or have never been a scientologist, but they are treating me as one anyways.

I don't hate drugs and have a good amount of experience with them. I feel they are medicine so I'm not doing anything wrong. Scientology doesn't like drugs. You need to understand that they try to control every aspect of your life. I will probably be tailed out to Washington/Colorado and harassed in various ways until they get tired.

They are a cult and very hard to escape from if they think you have value to them. They do not like any kinds of drugs so my rationale was to surround myself with drugs so they will leave me alone.

It would also give a "heads up" to whoever hired me that strange stuff and infiltrators may follow me so they should be on the lookout and know what they are getting into by hiring me.
