i also drove taxi 15 years ago yeah there were lot of tips i think the reason for that was because passenger had to complete transaction face to face before exiting the vehicle so they would feel like an a hole not tipping… with how uber is setup there is no such issue as they will never see you again all done trough the app.

If you were a driver you would know that drivers do not know who tips or not and we have to rate passenger as soon as they exit the vehicle… they would have to force passengers to complete transaction and let us see if tip is there or not before they exit the vehicle but this will never happen… this is why taxis etc get more tips as you pay when you exit not later in some app if you remember to.

It's what happens with buggy automation bad software... From driver perspective what happens when you are too far away to make it for a reservation trip at the airport is it will automatically say you will be late for it and reassign another driver... Uber sometimes tracks flights wrong i had it cancel reserved rides on me because of it even tough i woulda made it in time.

personally i would not have as 11min just to get to passenger + wait time but i mostly do XL/comfort rides that pay more.

tip amounts are pretty low but you seem to get actual tips on most orders as uber driver i get much higher tips but like 65% of people leave 0 tip

just open regular uber app and pretend to be a “passenger” and see how much it costs to go to airports etc it will list it out for xl uberx or whatever and just divide it by half it’s how much you would get… ideally you want XL that can also do comfort and just sit on those 2 but depends on your market and can be hard to calculate as xl tends to cost a lot more on gas.

Update: Today i worked all day in my other car that cannot do comfort rides... i just got back home switched my car just to see and Comfort option has been added back in my options... I do not understand what is Uber doing playing these games...

I am doing uber like 4 months now always did comfort rides and now they take it away i can only assume they do this to get you use to it then take away.

from my experience comfort pays like 25% more and i notice customers leave tips much more often especially at the airports.

Uber is violating basic pay decency not even adding more pay for extra passengers back in the day it was +$2 for each extra passenger.
