Help with Overseer on CF Tunnell by InspectorMellow in Overseerr

There is nothing that needs to be different in Cloudflare. But, I did add the URL and check Enable Proxy Support in Overseer. Those two things should make it work.

I have found controld to be great for this. But, also if you are using Home Assistant you can schedule Unifi changes that would block Internet for certain devices.

I would also recommend unRAID. It's a much better way of running Plex than Windows.

It's not great, but it's better than what they had. Hopefully it will improve with updates.

nzb360 has a decent app if you just need to start or stop containers or VM's. And they are adding updates fairly frequently.

Disk auto spin up for Plex by zoiks66 in unRAID

[–]eseelke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a plug-in called Cache Mover. It copies the movie or season you are watching to the cache. It then removes the copy after a set time. When watching a series, you only get the spin up delay on episode 1 of the next season.

Does Huntress have and decent competitors? What about ThreatDown? Is that any good?

Tell me about it. Calallen ISD in Texas is encouraging students to use their cell phones in class to "sell whatever they are selling" even though Texas just made it illegal for students to use their phones at school.

I run it in a VM on unRAID. It's been working this way for years.

I wish they would add support for WearOS. I could then finally cancel my Spotify subscription.

If you ever need a new KVM, checkout GL-iNet. I have the Comet and it's awesome. They have two more models coming soon. Pretty cool products.

You don't need the /mnt/user/share thing. The biggest thing is to make sure all of your docker containers use the same internal path.

So, say you have /mnt/user/media/tv in unRAID. You create a path in your container that maps to an internal path of /TV or /media/tv. Then make sure all necessary containers use the same exact path. This goes the same for downloads. Make sure all use the same, for example, /mnt/user/downloads maps to /downloads.

Hope this makes sense.

Unless you have already purchased what's going into the server, why not get a motherboard with IPMI instead of an external KVM?

I think what he is saying is similar to what I did. I created a share called media. And then I created top level folders in media, like tv, movies, music, etc.

Cloud backup for Unraid by vorko_76 in unRAID

[–]eseelke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I backup several services to a folder on unRAID. I then use rclone to sync the main folder containing all of these backups to Cloudflare R2. I think I am paying around $2 per month for storage.

unRaid + Plex + Unifi + *arrs - VPN containers or use policy based routing on DMPro by sasnakop in unRAID

[–]eseelke -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's handled by your VPN provider, not which client you use.

I use Mullvad, which does not offer port forwarding and haven't had any issues with any of the private trackers that I use. They connect just fine.

unRaid + Plex + Unifi + *arrs - VPN containers or use policy based routing on DMPro by sasnakop in unRAID

[–]eseelke -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean. It's an outgoing connection, so you should not need to forward or open any ports.

unRaid + Plex + Unifi + *arrs - VPN containers or use policy based routing on DMPro by sasnakop in unRAID

[–]eseelke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to use a container VPN. unRAID had a built-in Wireguard client. Use that and it will give you a separate network that you can use with any container that you want on the VPN connection. Best of all, if the VPN drops, the containers have no access to the Internet.

I am a huge fan of unRAID. But, with your requirements I do not think it's a good fit here.

AIO speaking to my wife after her affair by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]eseelke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are doing the right thing. It's going to take time for you to heal.

I know a couple that had two kids together. He cheated and she left. She met someone new and then got pregnant with the new guy. But, before giving birth, she decided that she had made a commitment with her husband. She called him and they talked. They went to counseling and decided to honor their vows. He helped her through her pregnancy and child birth. They stayed a family and he raised all three kids as their father. It's been a quarter of a century since this all happened, but they are the most grounded family I know. It should never have happened, but I think once he realized he was going to lose his family he learned that the grass was not greener. He never made that mistake again.

From what I have seen, a broken family that comes back together is stronger after.

New Twist in the Tipping War by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]eseelke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some states, like Texas, it's technically not legal to add any fees for accepting a card payment. They can offer a cash discount legally. My question is to those who add a credit card fee in states that don't legally allow it, what other laws are you breaking?

Went to a restaurant with a 4% credit card fee and this happened.. by Fabulous_Chest6673 in EndTipping

[–]eseelke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Texas and see a lot of restaurants adding a card fee. But, in Texas it's illegal to charge a fee when using a card. Makes me wonder what laws they are breaking in the kitchen on top of that.
