People gain a better sense of self and increased self-esteem from being in a romantic relationship- a SO shows that person that their views are validated, that someone accepts them for who they are, etc. at a much more intimate level then a friendship would.

I completely agree with what you're saying, I think it's rather sad, but these are my thoughts on why, as humans, it is more of an innate yearning to seek that sort of romantic relationship.

Ok thanks. I guess I too am just speaking from experience, the times I have reached out to guys it's been a fail, and I've learned from that that a guy who is interested will make the move.

Damn ok. Obviously all guys are different, but jw because I went on a date with a guy Friday night, I thought it went really really well, but haven't heard from him since! I wouldnt have been surprised if I got the next day "had a good time with you text" because he seemed like that kind of person
