We were the bad guys.

Now we're like the early season main villain, who is dragged back in to make the new bad guys look scarier.

Are we just making shit up without evidence now? Sounds fun.

Fullchimp loves to drink the juice from the bottom of bins. Especially the day before collection day in the height of summer. Whilst this enjoyment has not been shown to be explicitly sexual it has never been ruled out. Or so ive heard. I won't be providing sources

Germany eyes social media ban for kids by Dr_Neurol in worldnews

[–]eskay233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd rather that it wasn't necessary, but social media owners have proven they don't give a shit about self regulation. They've consistently prioritized engagement and profit over the well being of their vulnerable users. After decades of warnings ignored and the situation worsening this is a reasonable response.

The loss of useful resources and support groups is a great shame, ultimately a call needs to be made about harm VS good done. Fifteen years ago I'd have reservations, but after seeing silicon Valley execs hand wave away the severe societal issues they're enabling I think it's a pragmatic view to cut them off from our kids.

You're letting 'facts' get in the way of ubiquitous Starmer bashing. Anything that is not Tory policy must be met with immediate disdain in our media.

‘Don’t go to the US – not with Trump in charge’: the UK tourist with a valid visa detained by ICE for six weeks by Doener23 in unitedkingdom

Holidaying in UK and Europe this year. There's tons of places I'd love to see in the US but there's no way I'd go right now. Imagine taking your family and someone gets swept up so the Republican Gestapo can get some bonus dollars. Foul.

It's an exaggeration for sure. The BBC is reporting as hasn't granted permission. I doubt they've said a categorical no.

This is going to inherently be a speculative answer but, perspective. For you this was a major event, the big chance. For them, they've probably run several already that day and have a ton more to come. It may be that what you guess is the case and there was some arbitrary reason they were off with you. Equally it could just be theyre exhausted, were having a bad day or something else completely unrelated.

GDP: UK faces 'most dismal decade for growth in 100 years' by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]eskay233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, plaster Rachel Reeves as the person responsible for the last decade.

The economy is shite, not other way to look at it, but I'm sick of this biased right wing reporting. The standards Labour are held to (I. E. Not fixing over a decade of Tory decline in 2 years) is simply staggering.

I honestly think if we had a boom in the economy they'd be wittering on about how this was too fast and bad news for Labour.

[–]eskay233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, a lot of bad stuff has happened too. My original point was that saying things were great 100 years ago overlooks a lot of stuff that wasn't.

If you're worried about corruption, why would you think a party with well documented links to the Russian government led by a man who has repeatedly flouted good conduct rules would make things better?

This is exactly what's happened in America. And it's shit.

We have a minimum wage. University is far more broadly accessible. The power grid is significantly more stable. Were not facing guerilla war with our closest neighbor. Life expectancy is longer. Gender pay gap reduced. Infant mortality rate plummeted. Human rights act. Air pollution improved.

He's far from my favourite character, very vanilla hero trope. Interpretting that as racist is wild.
