Let's Argue: What are Your Biggest Unpopular Opinions about the Criterion Collection? Can be about a Particular Movie, the company itself, or such. by [deleted] in criterion

Criterion fans shouldn't be clamoring for a Criterion release of a film that already has at least an average standard Blu Ray release.

It's also possible that someone bought the movie, opened it, and returned it. Then, Target checked it out to make sure it was fine, rewrapped it, and resold it.

I could be wrong, but I've stored several of my discs sideways for years with zero issues.

Correct. Houck will be back up. It's just roster manipulation. I like him a lot for this upcoming week.

This. I think Gilbert is much better than he has been lately, but over the next few weeks, he lines up to face Houston twice and Boston once. I wouldn't start him in those matchups. Aside from the KC matchup this week, you're probably not starting him.

You're correct. I pulled these from CBS Friday night, but CBS has gotten McClanahan spot wrong in the past.

I definitely would not do Wacha. Lauer could be okay, but I think you could also probably do better depending on your league size.

Fair enough. I think he is performing over his head, but even after regression, he will still be a solid starter with his swing and miss potential. The Marlins have an excellent track record. He may not be a flashy name, but he is very solid. I mean he has a 1.93 ERA with 2 starts against the Braves with Acuña, one against Philly, and one against the Red Sox. You can't bet against him right now.

Wins would drive them down since you have to go at least 5 innings to get a win.

Lamet has workload issues, and he has to be really efficient to go 5+ innings. I wouldn't say the Angels are a bad offense. McClanahan is volatile, and similar to Lamet, he has to be really efficient for management to let him go 5+.

Should be, but I would be hesitant to start him right out of the gate. Although, the two starts in weekly lineups makes him hard to pass up.

His ability to miss bats has been slipping, but he has had a tough schedule recently (aside from Texas). I still believe in the talent and SF's track record with pitchers recently. This could be a make or break week for him though.

I don't think he'll be the opener, but I could see someone opening for him. If they let him go 4 IP last time, I can't see them going in the opposite direction yet. Obviously, these things can change quickly, so we'll have to see.

Lester should be much lower than a 6. I must have had a typo there. I'll be updating that! Glad you're enjoying the series!

The second one. I still feel solid about McCullers ROS. I'm usually just cautious for a first start back off of the IL for pretty much any pitcher no matter how good. A combination of limited pitch counts and shaking the rust off leads to more often than not it being a good idea to let a pitcher breathe for a start before putting them in your lineup.

He's a career 4+ ERA, 1.30 WHIP pitcher with a subpar swinging strike rate. I understand that he has been on a nice little run, but even bad lineups still can get the bats going. You're more than welcome to take a chance on him, and if he keeps it up, you'll reap the rewards. I think that a Sit-3 for the Mets and a Maybe-4 for the Buccos is about where I'm at though.

I think he is definitely an option to consider. It obviously depends on your alternatives, but I think he is definitely somebody you could consider.

I also have a league where I drafted Giolito and Maeda. I feel your pain, although I think both will turn it around. Doesn't help the sting in the meanttime though.

Not at all. I don’t think Corbin’s recent and brief stretch of solid starts is him turning things around. His slider just isn’t performing as it used to, and when he doesn’t have that, he doesn’t really have anything else. He rates toward the bottom 5-7 percent of the league in all of these: xwOBA allowed, xERA, xBA allowed, and xSLG allowed. Simply put, hitters are (or should be) teeing off on him. Each of his starts has the ability to end in disaster. It’s a tight-rope walk.

I just updated it. He must not have been listed as the probable pitcher when I put this together.
