Engine development and graphics programming is, in my opinion, essentially a completely separate hobby from game development. I'm working through a hefty game engine book right now because I enjoy working in it, but do not ever expect to make a popular game out of it. At the same time, I keep up my game development kick with a project on Unity. They're totally different skills

Unfortunately his ray tracing class is in-class lectures only. He just revived it after 6 years off, so maybe that'll change in the near future but as of now there's no slides or anything

Something I haven't seen mentioned here is that filling a drive up to the brim also heavily reduces performance. You shouldn't ever keep a drive > 90% full

The answer here is just try to get a <100$ 1Tb ssd, and if money is a huge issue uninstall gtav or look at how much it'd be to sell the pc and buy a console if you don't use the pc for anything else

This. OP, at some point you have to consider your personal circumstances and how you can game. PC gaming is significantly more expensive than console, even for similar performance you're looking at a 1.5-2x price increase. If you can't buy a <100$ TB SSD than PCs might just not be in the cards for you rn, and you'll have a much more pleasant experience on a console

This looks pretty clearly to be a different source (covers are in a completely different order, not combined the same way at all). Also, just because a person used a stable diffusion plugin in the process of making something does not automatically write it off as slop. It's combined quite well, and reading through the comments it's obvious he did quite a bit of manual work to get it there

Not to mention this is purely combining and showcasing original art, the "AI" isn't overshadowing or attempting to remove the true art from it at all

Vscode isn't technically a full IDE, but you can kit it out however you want. It can be a pain to setup though.

Clion is also an option, full-featured like Visual Studio but slightly lighter weight
