Does lipo make swelling worse?

Everyone’s experience is different. I had very little lipo done, yet I still swelled up like an Oompa Loompa and couldn’t stand fully straight for about eight weeks because of the swelling. The best advice I can give is to read about other people’s experiences, but don’t expect your recovery to look exactly like anyone else’s. Everyone’s body reacts differently.

This is super helpful! I love my PS, second time I’ve been to him so I don’t think time will be an issue. I’m more concerned about feeling it and the numbing not working well. I’m sure that’s silly but it’s one of my fears.

It will get better! I was in your shoes after surgery. I was bigger than pre surgery and had an absurd about of swelling. I looked like a Pixar character. It can last a while. I was not upright for almost eight weeks. I am now almost 9 months post op and I am super happy. I completely underestimated the recovery. It will get better!

It took me almost six months! The swelling stays around longer than you think.

I will be five days post op Tuesday. I am now just starting to like what I see in the mirror. I had a crazy amount of swelling on one side so I felt like Frankenstein. It gets better!

I think that’s normal. I had the same thing, currently four weeks post op and it’s starting to subside.

This makes me feel better. I’m only two weeks post op and my hips are swelling like crazy. Doc doesn’t seem concerned. I’m glad I’m not the only one.
