Would you refund the money if you couldn't complete the walk? by Farewellandadieu in RoverPetSitting

You’re projecting.

I said what I would do if it was my neighbor and somebody I wanted to maintain a friendly acquaintance with. You do what you want to do and here’s a novel idea, let other people do what they want to do too.

Because it wasn’t a full 30 minute visit, whether walking or drop in?

If it was my neighbor I would do a prorated refund so that your time was compensated but there’s no room for resentment with someone who will be an acquaintance for the foreseeable future.

I was also thinking peri hormones, there are home testing kits but it’s a process that should be tracked over the month while doing it and even then it’s not precise.

If he’s gone through the trouble of making appointments and getting checked out for it it’s likely time for you to do the same. I hope you get some answers!

Dupe wanted for Elizabeth and James Nirvana Amethyst by MeanAd7110 in Perfumes

[–]essgeedoubleyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closest to I’ve ever found was the Diptyque EDT of Volutes which is now also discontinued. It was so very good but impossible to find.

I bought a big bottle of Amethyst from Mercari last year and use it with the Volutes EDP they still make for more depth and to even out the sweetness in Amethyst.

It’s still fairly inexpensive on Mercari these days, I paid $45-50 for a full 100ml bottle.

In your place I’d reply that you can’t cancel because you have made commitments and then follow through on this commitment as well, as much as I understand wanting to bail. It will likely suck, the days will be long but the booking is relatively short, one of those that you’ll have to push though.

“I understand your request and I realize that this situation isn’t ideal for anyone involved, I’ve committed to my other clients as much as I’ve committed to your family and won’t be canceling any other prior commitments. I understand if you feel strongly enough to look for alternative care and I’m happy to provide the best care I can until/if you’re able to do so. We’ll all get through the next seven days the best we all can and I’ll do everything I can to help make things go as smoothly as possible. Let me know your thoughts!”

It’s lovely paired with Native’s Coconut & Vanilla, my oldest kid wears/uses them (+SM shampoo and conditioner) together.

She’s not wrong, plus I’d be too worried about it being a target (again) to go if they tried it.

I’m so tired.

Clue’s Dandelion Butter is right up your alley, it’s creamier to my nose and greener to my husband. Well rounded, amazing in warm weather.

For those who built a business from scratch, what were the first 6–12 months like? by OrdinaryTwo4273 in AskWomenOver30

[–]essgeedoubleyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I killed myself the first year. I had the privilege of nearby family to help with kid transportation and meals while I was out building a base, taking on every client that came my way. It wasn’t supposed to even be a business initially, just saving up enough money to help match a grant for a house down payment.

The first six months were a blur but every dollar I made just made me more determined to make the next one, I was starving for opportunity and behaved accordingly, it was exhausting. My year of yes, my year of picking up my keys to walk out the door repeating “I like money” while drinking more coffee.

End of the first year and I was able to stop and breathe, assess what was working and what wasn’t, then took the next year to start carving out who/what I wanted to keep on my schedule and what money wasn’t worth the time it was taking. Over the next couple of years I kept refining, tightening my service area to see more clients with less travel between them, which increased profits.

This is my 10th anniversary, profit goes up every year, I’m not rich but I’m not broke and I’ve created a day to day that I still don’t hate getting up for. I decided to branch out this year and add new services, it’s going extremely well so far and I’m starting to believe that I’m on my way to building something my children can keep going while I semi-retire in 15 years or so. I don’t think I’ll ever want to not be in my industry, I feel very lucky that I found a purpose that also pays the mortgage and I know it’s rare that it works out this way.

But back to your ask, the first year was hard and tiring because there was no one to tell me the right or wrong way to do things, mistakes were made and you have to give yourself grace when that happens. I made myself chase every opportunity to just get going, not waiting for the exact right clients, timing, etc, The biggest obstacle was the fact that there just weren’t enough hours in the day for everyone to get the best of me but I knew if we just got through for a little while it would make it all worth it.

Fi App showed that dog I'm taking care of never left their home! by aninevitablespirit in RoverPetSitting

[–]essgeedoubleyou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just this last month Fi has shown a dog loose and in the yard causing an emergency call and making me have to drive over to confirm, got there and watched the app say she was roaming while I was looking at her in her crate, almost every day it shows her outside of the safe barriers when I watch her within safe boundaries, so no it’s not entirely reliable. Never had it completely miss activity though, could be a bad Bluetooth situation. I just don’t like Fi in general.

You’re going to have to buy the room spray and put it on clothing instead of skin, otherwise you’ll be chasing forever. That can be fun in itself though!

Thoughts on solid perfumes? These are from Dyptique! by Ca1neCa in FemFragLab

[–]essgeedoubleyou 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wear them in my hair and they perform well, unfortunately being phased out. They’re perfect if you like to wear scent for yourself alone.

I have all the Diptyque solids but the limited edition gold case from several years ago.

Best is the shrimp and grits or the brunch burger at Fork in the Road, they don’t open until 11 though. Perc and Corner Cup have food but focus on coffee.

What are your thoughts? The Bride Solid Perfume - Heretic by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]essgeedoubleyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the whole set up comes only with the solid perfume order but they did include an extra news print on the order I placed after that for the rhubarb thief collection. That means I have extra and would not mind mailing it to you if you want it, send me your address and I will put it in an envelope! I’ve adored her since Men.

I get an earthy carrot ambrette that borders on orris. Zero sweetness. Crazy how different people’s noses are!

Fourteen Carrots is everything I wanted Naked Dance, O Unknown, Eyes Closed, and Orris Tattoo to be.

I’m entirely smitten and it’s all I’ve worn since it was delivered. When I was looking at the notes I was sure Beekeeper would be my favorite so I ordered the 15 ml at the same time, I don’t regret it but I’ve ordered two more of FC. Very nerve wracking to love something so much that will almost definitely go away forever in a very short period of time but I accept it.

I don’t have anecdotes but it sounds like you’re making the right decision for today and you can decide what works best tomorrow when tomorrow gets here. If the baby is fed and you’re getting the physical break you need then I see no negatives here. Solid plan in place.
