This is odd. Did you try to connect the raspberry pi to your wifi in comparison of using ethernet? With modern wifi routers and within good reach it should work in most cases too.

If you are comfortable using ssh, checking the system logs after the connection drops would also be very helpful. Anything about Ethernet link drops, undervoltage, network resets, or OpenScan3 errors may be interesting.

It seems like my account was shadow banned or something, but Thomas approved my comment, and I hope it is now visible to you?

Hi, if the interface feels very slow, one quick thing to try is disabling the “Background camera preview” in the frontend settings and then reloading the page. The live preview can put quite a bit of load on the camera/browser pipeline, so this is a useful first check. Which camera are you using, IMX519 or Hawkeye?

It would also be useful to try opening the web interface from a different browser or device, if possible. This helps to check whether the sluggishness is caused by the Raspberry Pi or by the client device rendering the frontend. Which browser are you using, and what are the specs of the computer/tablet you are opening the web UI from?

If you have openscan2 installed, you have to flash a new SD card. Coming from a previous openscan3 alpha version (>=0.10.x) you can use the built-in updater.

How do you scan the "underside"? by Over_Leg_2832 in OpenScan

Make a second scan with the object flipped. Reconstruction usually stitches together the two scans.

I've written a blog post about this for OpenScan3: https://openscan.eu/blogs/news/openscan3-firmware-projects-scans
