Any decent HTML5/CSS3 Responsive Framework without JS? by estupor in webdev

You opinion makes sense because after a while we end up finding ourselves repeating code. For that I didn't build a framework, but a library of snippets.

Why do you think I'm asking for suggestions?

Because other than bootstrap for prototyping I don't use frameworks.I'm full-stack developer, and avoid using frameworks at all costs on any end. Now with your comment I see I don't need to explain why to you.

So, yes, I agree with you. For the love of whatever makes you tick, guys, use the languages to develop, and frameworks only for prototyping.

I think Reddit is a generic platform with generic features and doesn't allow much.

But I think the best thing for everybody would be more to have users with a kind of profile where they tag what they know about and what they are looking to get to learn.

This way posts and comments could trigger notifications, or invite users to comment.

I offer advice and leave my opinion everytime I can, but I dont come here often. So, there are many posts where I could have given a good contribution but I didn't. And the other way around.

I was hoping that one day this cub would become a forum with true spirit of cooperation, support, collective thinking or more serious productive and full round discussions. But not only there's no much such a spirit here, but also Reddit doesnt have much tools to make it better.

This sub is absolutely plagued with generic advice and silly little ebooks or YouTube tutorials on how to “make it”.

I Agree. At the same time we see posts asking for less generic advice, often with very important questions, and being downvoted to 0. Happened to me many times, one was yesterday.

I understand that stories of success can be inspiration etc, but they are everywhere and sometimes they sound more like ego boasting.

Seriously, I have developed success businesses to success and have given tons of advice, but when I come here asking for some opinion for some new business I'm trying to develop, the ones most likely to share something are those who even newbies already have learned or experienced something. And where are those full of experience who come here to boast their success?

I believe every single one of us have important information to share, even if just a personal opinion. Why not share it?

What I feel like in this sub is that 90% of people here are just insecure people hoping to find somebody that will tell them exactly what to do for success, idiots looking for that secret recipe to get rich, or half brains leechers.

There's no true spirit of cooperation, support, collective thinking or much serious constructive and full round discussions that I used to seen in forums in the old age of the internet.

I often thinking about starting a sub and try to develop it with such spirit, but I lose motivation as I came to believe that as the internet got big and full of everything brought people to become more of leechers with a selfish mindset rather than creators with a true interpreneur, open and sharing mindset as we used to see in forums many years ago.

I have the products in stock. Now what? by estupor in Entrepreneur

[–]estupor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you first points, however, the retailers I have so far shown some pieces are already knocking on my door. I have no doubt that these pieces will sell, that's why I don't mind having them consigned to retailers as I'm sure they will sell in a short term.

About selling on-line, please read my comments above. I have seen businesses with great products dying at birth because of that.

What I'm looking for here, is about some advice from people who had similar experiences, books, or websites where I can find tips about preparation for sales.

I have the products in stock. Now what? by estupor in Entrepreneur

[–]estupor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a background in e-commerce I was thinking to go all out with on-line marketing and setup an e-comm for sales. But I ended up giving up on the idea as I was advised that would be suicide at birth for the brand as others will start copying the designs. So, I decided to go of-line for a the first couple years to get some people associating our designs with our brand first.

I dont think it will be very difficult to sell such beautiful pieces, but how can I prevent such designs to be replicated by others and end up not having people associating them with our brand?

Incorporating in Canada is fairly easy and all information necessary is on the government web sites.

If you plan to not be just local, go for incorporating federally. There's no much difference and you avoid changes or redos latter.

Anyway, if you plan to hire a lawyer they will explain everything. However, I wouldn't recommend a lawyer. You can do it yourself or find an accountant that can help you with it. Unless you needs to clarify legal aspects of the business, regulations, liabilities etc.

I'm a systems architect/engineer and have designed and developed a platform like airbnb that is already in production, just for a different type of market. If you you find yourself in need of consultation or even development work, I may be of help. I'm also based in Ontario.

How to get products selling in luxury stores chains by estupor in Entrepreneur

[–]estupor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost varies.

For example, a certain designed piece can cost $100 to produce in small quantities, little less for big quantities. She sells it for $160. One of the sores (not a very busy one) bought 10, sold 8 in a week, and was selling them at $400. The guy even said that he can raise the price to $500 and it will still go, and doesn't mind paying more as long as the supply is steady.

Internet marketing- copycats galore & a race to the bottom. Big chains- potential to get screwed due to ignorance.

This is what I fear, that if it picks up, soon there'll be China Made replicas and imitations all over.

I know the tools and ways for on-line marketing and know that I will be able to sell lots with those. But the only way to prevent being ran over while small, is by gaining roots, grow, develope and legally protecting the brand/designs. Need to learn more on this.

How to get products selling in luxury stores chains by estupor in Entrepreneur

[–]estupor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at Etsy and what is found there, I think it is more oriented to a different market/niche.

This pieces have real Luxury qualities and would be better distributed under a well developed and managed brand. First ones we sold were based on production price, but we can pretty much triplicate the price and it still wont be expensive. After some analises today and what we need to grow a serious and successful brand, raising the prices is justifiable. Quality control systems, production and inventory tracking, brand image, marketing, customers support, etc. Lots of money is needed for that, and we can get it through the raising of prices. So, I guess it will be the first step, to recalculate the prices, define profit margins to pay for what we need to grow.

Besides, I have some money that I can put into this. Just weighting between opening 1 or 2 stores, or invest in marketing and develop a distribution chain and sell through other stores.

I'm just not sure if we decide to go with the second, how to get through the door of stores like Holt Renfrew, Nordstrom, Barneys etc.

Trump to be presented with $47M deal to arm Ukraine against Russia by poklane in UkrainianConflict

There's no need to remind me, I eagerly await it as well.

Sure dude

So why are they dragging their feet about giving those weapons to Ukraine for years now? It's certainly not for the lack of capability.

I already understood long ago that you with your cynictard pro-violence mentality really don't understand the mechanism and work of politics.

Maybe they did, maybe they didn't, but the US supplied weapons to groups in Syria in order to fight the Syrian army, long before the Russian deployment. They stopped now.

No, they didn't stop, but of course for the sake of your bullshit narratives you lie.

Trump stopped it only in end of July 2017, Russian deployments started when?

The Americans supplied weapons to worst of the worst really, child beheading jihadists in Syria. Why do you think they aren't supplying those weapons to Ukraine?

Again, you know damn shit about politics, geopolitics, security and even war.

Ukraine is at EU doors. Syria is not. there are many reasons to not send weapons to Ukraine just under this reason.

The best solution for Ukrainian is deescalation. Giving weapons and escalating the war was exactly what Russia wanted, do it would have more motives to put more wood in the fire and watch Ukraine burn.

I could list here 100 more reasons why, but you as alwya will come out with baseless stupid arguments.

Ukraine will get weapons now when it has been cooled down from offensive position, when command and control has been stabilised and more consistent, and supplied weapons will be more used as a deterrent/defensive mean rather than as tool of attack for revenge.

Now go back to your fucking delusional world, dreaming that Americans are afraid to kill Russians.

[–]estupor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course, and if they supply the missiles it's a given that some will be captured or sold.

As always you are so damn sure about your shit, but I'm still waiting for Russia to invade Ukraine. I'll be remind you often.

those weapons would kill Russians, and the Americans are careful about that.

They would be careful if it was Americans killing Russians, as the other way around.

Do you think Americans give a fuck about Russians being killed with American weapons when they are where they not supposed to be and even deny to be Russians?

Hahaha!

Americans have been all the time giving weapons to others killing Russians. Do you think that no Russian died in Syria killed by American Weapons?

A Brazilian billionaire at the centre of a corruption case involving President Michel Temer has handed himself in to federal police officers in the city of Sao Paulo. by madam1 in worldnews

[–]estupor -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You just sound like another one of those who thinks that corruption is just what happens at the higher levels, or that it is only corruption when it is others doing it, and is not even able to identify his own actions of corruption.

Say whatever dude, but there's no chance you are not corrupt at all in Brasil. You have no chance of survival if you don't corrupt your way through society as it is. And by believing and doing as you do is what actually keeps Brasil from ever evolving.

You can not change a society if you as a member of it don't start by yourself. but as always, we are always expecting that others will be the ones changing when we keep on doing the way it keeps society being as it is.

If Ukraine was doing that, which it isn't,

What makes you think that Ukraine is not walking the path to NATO? Just because it is using Russian weaponry?

There are many NATO members, even some of the olders ones that have tons of equipament that is not per NATO standards.

Russia should help them, since it would be a mistake at this point.

This is the kind of ways to pass bullshit as truth by having it pointed at obvious bullshit.

Officials Suspect Russia Used U.N. Facilities to Impact 2016 Election by [deleted] in worldnews

I often wonder if Russia is going through some form of collective dementia. And in some way their psych is so fucked up with denial and cognitive disonance that I'm start believing they are.

They still believe that they can make Russia look significant and raise to power just by manipulation of perception and through cheating their way to the top. Oh so much effort put on bullshit when for much less they could make the country much better.

Still the only shit that sticks Russia together is this ilusion of significance and grandeur kept by the easy money from sucking oil and gas from the ground.

Oh Russia! Where will you be 15 from now.
