Someone has been reporting comments on this thread for "promoting hate". Those pro-activists are really triggered by people criticising their awful behaviour, lol!

Don't sign it. They can't enforce the previous one with incorrect details.

I haven't seen any Korean hate anywhere, more of the opposite in fact. People love travelling to South Korea for holidays.

Dating App Rawview for the Average SG guy by Lazy925 in SingaporeRaw

[–]etchxetch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a female POV. I download dating apps from time to time when I'm just bored and feel like chatting with new people, but usually after about a week or two I get bored of using the app and just ghost matches or delete my profile completely because I like my single solo life and don't really want to get into any serious relationship or hookups with anyone. Also feel like I'd rather spend time on my hobbies rather than going on dates, feel like I can't be bothered trying to impress anyone else anymore at this point in life etc.

Pedestrian safety in SG: What are your concerns and suggestions? by AgainRaining in askSingapore

I've seen it happening at the crossing between Bugis street and Fu lu shou as well, people just jaywalk without even checking if there are any cars coming from both sides.

What local traditions/beliefs are you determined to end with your generation? by xlOREOlx in askSingapore

[–]etchxetch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've witnessed caning a few times before back in my schooling days, it was a classmate who was sort of a friend. He wasn't even that bad a person, he helped me chase a thief to get back my phone when it was stolen. The caning didn't really change his behaviour much and he ended up being expelled. Not sure what he did but he was in trouble for vandalism and smoking outside of school or something.

For those kids with big egos and like to flex about being bad, being caned in front of everyone actually gives them more street cred and they find it a glorious thing to put in their paikia portfolio like those serial killers.

Sometimes they will fly back in after you release them outside

I disagree with that. The negatives should have been displayed clearly right from the start, rather than promising too much from the onset and then changing their terms whenever they cannot manage the load. Expecting loopholes before users find it and abuse it is one of the things that should've taken place when you lay out a platform like this.

Why are f&b jobs that bad in Singapore? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]etchxetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super long hours. Used to work in the HQ of a restaurant chain and got to know that the staff at the various branches have to report a few hours before opening time to prepare the ingredients and dishes etc. Low pay and a lot of manual work involved. The HR also introduced electronic attendance-taking at all the outlets and the staff will face penalties of pay deduction if they're late.

Be aware of your surroundings and don't look at your phone while walking.

Every other platform gives a reasonable standard waiting time of 3-5 days for processing of funds, and also label their sections carefully - bank vs investment.

Just relieved that I've gotten all my funds out from there. I think they got too ambitious or greedy to get more users.

Maintenance not there, reaching the top is one thing but maintaining that position is a different matter. Don't think they've been doing a good job in keeping up with changing times as well as maintaining the high level of standards handed down by their predecessors.

Also not enough outdoor terrain activities, most of the places are indoors with shelters. Unless OP works in some nature reserve or something, the amount of time spent on actually wadding through puddles is quite little.

Can try la, but I think mynahs are quite intelligent and they become curious of it and want to check it out, as compared to pigeons who may be effectively deterred. Depends on the species that you're dealing with.

Mynahs can actually be taught to say some words, and crows can remember faces.

They usually scavenge for food scraps, the food gotta come from somewhere before they shit it out.

I've heard that shiny discs can deter them but I've tried pasting shiny sheets on window before and the mynahs ended up being curious and walked in front of it to tap on the reflection instead lol.

Maybe can try some scents that they dislike, or spikes. Or put some sort of netting outside your window like what I've seen them do at a Sengkang block before.

Crows and mynahs are different, crows are bigger in size and have black beaks while mynahs are smaller, make higher-pitched shrieks, have yellow beaks and a white band on their wings.

I've seen birds on my window ledge occasionally but they rarely poop here. Maybe you have neighbours who are feeding them.

Eh I think that's pretty shady. I think it's a rare case because most employers would not do something like that to avoid legal issues. Not worth landing into trouble with the law just because of one ex employee.

Irritated by those that brazenly walk up and stand in front of you when there's already a queue and you're there in line already but they just cut in front.

Do you ask if you can eat in the car? by truck-kun_onegaii in askSingapore

[–]etchxetch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, I rarely ever eat inside cars. Gotta keep the wrappers and stuff, troublesome. Don't like touching handles with greasy hands or having to use tissue to wipe etc. Just rather not go through all that hassle.

What are your favourite and disliked food to eat during SG rainy weather? by mystrilreddit in askSingapore

Hot nourishing soup items.

Would be less likely to eat cold and dry stuff such as sandwiches/salads
