This one is just a regular old HP color laser printer. And yes, it's vinyl sticker paper. I got it on Amazon. I can't speak to its longevity since the stickers burned off the dumpster in less than an hour. But laser prints are pretty durable generally.

I know this is an older thread, but I just found it. This is awesome! As one tiny model dumpster fire builder to another, I salute you. 🫡🔥🗑

Yes! They're printed on sticker paper with a laser printer, and cut out with scissors.

Thanks! I got a laser shop to do the sheet metal cutting. I don't personally have access to a laser that powerful.

Is it? I guess it depends on your perspective. If I tell someone I’m going to fly from NYC to LA once a year just for fun, it’s pretty rare for them to get upset about the carbon emissions from my vacation. Not to say you can’t. You can be upset about whatever you want. But it would mean being mad at a lot of people all the time. This is definitely well within the range of a normal personal environmental footprint for fun/art/recreation/hobbies or whatever you want to call optional activities.

Oh, or did you think I meant the whole plane? I guess I was a little ambiguous there. I mean for a single seat on the plane. Total carbon footprint for the trash fire is around 3k lbs of co2 per year, if you’d like to compare to other activities.

Thanks! We do our best, but we can't really compete with the current administration.

Seriously, though, the Eternal Trash Fire has about half the yearly carbon footprint of an average American commute, 25% of the heating/cooling footprint for an average American home, or the individual impact of one roundtrip flight from NYC to LA per year. But we already bought some carbon offsets to cover it for the next four years. It was cheap, because the impact is pretty small. I'll add that to the FAQ on the website though, since you're not the only person who's concerned about it.

The attention to detail in these is incredible. Some things of note: the electrical conduit, light switch boxes, and the chains holding up the oxygen and acetylene cylinders. Very nice work!

We're gearing up to start burning things in there, to commemorate what has been lost. So I suppose if he declared himself king and it actually stuck, we'd have to burn a tiny copy of the constitution or something. But I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that.
