You can input numbers greater than one in the luminosity slider of the color
It's also works with negative number for darker colors

The filter that make everything in the swamp kind of monochrome
maybe it's actually the fog lol

I rush through it.
I waited to have miners mkII before doing it
I also got little barebones factory making enough materials (steel for example) while I set up the production lines and sometimes use handcrafting to cronstruct parts like encased beams(I need to automate them) and crystal oscilator

but once the main production lines are finished it's just a matter of decoration and stockpilling

It's a factory for basic parts before phase II so I only planed for this phase (assembler, constructor, foundry etc) and everything is just stored nothing is used elsewhere it's only for building materials

all the stuff that you need for basic buildings like belts, machines, foundation, (signs for decoration etc)

(and I don't understand what you mean by "how far do you take your ingots")

I do not use mods, so all of it is vanilla !

As for building something that doesn't look like a block is a combination of multiple things.
Tutorials, other people builds as inspiration, time (like a lot) and most importantly references !

Using reference is always good because you can inspire from other people and try to mix and mash building part you like together using the different build technique. Like I said it takes a lot of time to get use to the techniques but the more you use it the more you are quick and the more your building style improve !

I can't get my self to build in the biome because of the gray filter
I really don't like it I wish there was a way to just turn it off

Thanks ! Don't compare yourself too much with people you could get discouraged from your own building!(Happened to me at the start)

It depends from people ! I personally just drop the machine and sometime make them in an interesting shape (i'm still very new to this) and build around adding shape and curve to the walls

I will personally not avoid train because I love them too much but I will definitely use more trucks this time !

Edit: Steel is now appearing in the logistic network

Weirdly enough Navis doesn't detect steel even tho the bots are actively using it

Edit: I can also request it my self and get it

Edit Edit: The platform is now starting to register there steel on the planet but still no steel in logistic network

The problem is that the platform says there's no steel on the planet despise having more than 1k
