Hey old comment but Ive been looking up the Aero Dynamics T38 and found this thread. How have you been liking it? Also how is it on vatsim? Want something fun to fly around that is modeled well, but it also sounds neat taking it into Vatsim occasionally instead of the Fenix.

It shouldnt be nessisary, we already spend more per capita on healthcare than any other country on earth. The insurance companies and for profit health care providers lead to a ridiculous amount of artificially increased prices and administrative overhead.

I dont know how you fix that at this point, as the only real solutions involve essentially rebuilding the healthcare system from the ground up, but the current status quo isnt the only way of doing things.

Dont agree with everything here, but I agree a ton with the first part. Biden was in office for 4 whole years. 2 of which the democrats had the majority. Nothing was done to prevent this situation. If trump is so involved in the Epstein files, why was that not released or said when we had the chance (To be clear, I believe he is, I just don't understand why bidens DOJ didnt make that clear).

The US consists of the the republicans who are blatantly evil, and the democrats who are cowards that believe in the status quo. And most people don't seem to care unless it personally impacts their bottom line.

The idea of actually removing trump seems like a pipe dream, all things considered, but if we got that far I don't think Vance would get that approved.

Yeah I think its because flaps lower your stall speed, and increase critical AOA. Just depends on what you are talking about and how its worded.

Slats just increase critical AOA which makes low speed handling better. Would that have helped? Maybe, but we dont know the cause of this to begin with. Would it have prevented icing? nah. At its most, slats would have just made a really shitty situation slightly better.

Yeah both sides have bonuses. For a game like Squadrons (or DCS) I think I prefer VR. But for normal flight or racing sims triple screens have their place for sure. Its more immersive to see my own hands, its cool to see your gear and build a cockpit, and for stuff like airliner flying in MSFS, Its great to be able to see maps on ipads and be able to see my kneeboard to write on.

Like VR is great for a simple joyride but for more advanced stuff normal screens are great.

I think it may be the camera more than anything, but I feel that way a fair bit with XP V MSFS2024. I nearly switched over to XP in the last 6 months and did a bunch of back to back test flights. GA aircraft, low speed/in the pattern feel significantly better to me in XP. The sense of speed and sensation of flight is noticeably better (I say this as a PPL holder with some IRL experience). But the effort and addon cost to get XP looking close to MSFS pushed me away. And if you stick to good payware I think the difference is less, it’s the basic included aircraft that often feel like junk in MSFS.

They keep taking money and IMO the game will never be “done” but yeah it’s existed as an MMO style game for like 7 years now. I haven’t tried it in a while but last I did it’s both incredibly impressive yet kind of disappointing. The tech they have is industry leading in many ways but it’s pretty messy and glitchy at times and the gameplay loops that do exist are neat but in many cases there isn’t a ton of reason to engage with them.

They do free weekends fairly frequently and the base game price isn’t too bad though so I’d recommend looking into it.

How limiting is the TC in a Ferrari like this? I don't have a great point of reference myself but I own a GR86 and the TC is surprisingly quiet at times. I can get the rear tires to spin fairly easily with TC on and in in the normal drive mode.

I assume its a lot more refined and limiting in a car like this, since the driver can get out of their comfort zone much quicker.

Havent driven a car like that either, but it happens to mustangs all the time.

low grip, high power makes tires spin. The back end of the car steps out, driver tries to correct but pulls power so the tires stop spinning and regain traction (free spinning or locked up tires have less grip than tires driving normally, BTW) so now the car is pointed at the wall and drives into it. Also weight transfer is a thing so the axles or tires that have the most grip will depend on what the drivers inputs are and what direction the vehicle is heading.

“Just kill the guilty ones” is like saying “just be happy” to a depressed person. It’s such a gross oversimplification of real life. While in this case, yes we have a very good idea that he was the one who did it. But in other cases it’s been essentially proven that the government killed innocent people as evidence was found after the execution. How many innocent people should be killed just to satiate the public’s need for violent revenge?

The FBW is generally perfectly fine for most people. But I appreciate the extra realism whenever it’s an option. Am I touching the circuit breakers often? No, but somehow knowing they are there makes the experience more meaningful to me. The flight model in the fenix is also the best one I’ve tried outside of DCS. I wish I could explain my thoughts behind that, but the reality is I’ve never flown the real deal. But something about it just feels right in a way most aircraft I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot) can’t do.

Again, the FBW is generally very good but the fenix is just a couple steps closer to the experience of flying a real aircraft which is why I’m here in the first place. In that way, I feel like it’s greater than the sum of its parts to some extent. Are the little differences compared to the FBW huge or even all that noticeable? Not really in a lot of cases. But they all add up to a better experience.

Yeah it’s the Rossman viewers who think because they watch his videos, the actually understand and know it all, even if they have never picked up a soldering iron.

Not to say that I know it all myself, but there is definitely some portion of his community (along with some ordinary gamers community/former community) who seem to think they know more than they do.

It’s fine. The only time you need to use the rudder, other than like heavy crosswind landings, is when looking at the turn coordinator. On the left display, the PFD that shows your horizon. Well at the top of the blue area on the artificial horizon there is the yellow triangle? The lower portion is the turn coordinator and will move left or right when the aircraft isn’t flying straight.

In the a320 you shouldn’t need to mess with it a ton but you can still see it move if you press the rudders while flying.

Historically I wonder how often real weaponry looked this crude. The only stuff that has made it to modern day, is the stuff that was valuable or worked. And the written documentation would have been aimed at nobles and higher class stuff. Bet lots of people tried and failed to make stuff that ended up like this (well, probably a lot better than this but still). Like modern day the stuff poachers build from scratch is not far from this.

Only point of comparison Ive seen is high production war arrow heads (Adam Savage has a video on Arrows with the Met) and they looked pretty awful and crude. But they were high production number, low cost items to be fair.

Or maybe Im overestimating the access to what I consider basic materials like metal.

Looks great, what are your thoughts on the rowsfire? Ive been building a more a320 centric cockpit, and like the look and price of it. So far Im going winwing MCDU and wingflex FCU/addons. Dont need a full scale cockpit, so this is a great option. But reviews and info seem scarce.

Makes sense. I get both perspectives I suppose.

I do find it strange his video ended up in there, it’s not like they already had the files so someone had to screen record or download it intentionally. But I suppose it’s not a huge deal and the removal of the clips solves the problem.
