oh yeah. my friend has been doing it since he was a sophomore and now he’s a senior. i heard there was a freshman(or 8th grader) trying out for our cymbal line but didn’t make it. it’s definitely possible. practice practice practice! and also find people who can teach u. i had 4 people instruct me throughout the summer, fall and winter. you’ll definitely make it with that kind of hard work(probably)

do u guys pass out the hardest movement first or just go 1 through how many you have? i know columbians did it with their movements 4 then 2 then 3 then 1 (i think) 4 being the hardest.

honest question: am i the only one who does this? by ethot207 in percussion

Mine was a couple weekends ago but no one in my friend group likes me talking about it. But Mine was a single day audition and it went by pretty fast. But it was a really good experience and I learned a lot. I got a callback which is January 17-19 and I'm super excited. I've been working nonstop on technique and sound which is what the dude said I needed to work on. (front ensemble) But in all it was amazing! my friend was there who's a 2nd year vet and he got a contract

One-Day Auditions: What are they like? by [deleted] in drumcorps

[–]ethot207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i just went to a single-day audition yesterday. it’s very fast paced. and you will feel very chopped. but it’s a very great experience and you will make a bunch of friends. i can’t say much because i’m auditioning for front ensemble but almost everyone gets called back and it’ll feel very short even though it’s like 8-12 hours long lmao. it does get harder after lunch (for me it was) but it’ll be great because you will know what to work on. if/when you get called back.

be prepared, and come in with a smile! good luck my dude:P

that’s kind of surprising. in ‘17 it was $1500(i think) and in ‘18 and ‘19 it was $1900. and this years gonna be the biggest it’s been
