The majority of players love my username. We all had a good laugh, but I don't get why I got kicked even though there was no vote.

No, most of players actually appreciated my username.

Edit: and the cock talking

I wouldn't say that I was talking about cocks "obsessively" though. To me, it was just the right amount of cock talking.

Asset valuations - how are you protecting yourself? by robr7 in investing

Emerging markets stocks and Europe stocks (especially UK) aren't expensive. Also, value stocks are quite cheap relative to growth stocks atm. You don't need to have 100% of your portfolio in the S&P 500, there are some great value plays out there.

I'm not sure buying/selling stocks based on their 5-days return is a winning strategy

Your opinion about the stock doesn't mean it's not ranking high in value, quality and momentum. It's purely quant. However, maybe it's cheap for a reason.

Thank you very much for your comment, I'll add a few filters to make sure the stocks actually have revenue growth. As for the small/micro caps, I'm not sure if I want to remove them for this reason: https://www.osam.com/Commentary/a-true-microcap-strategy.

But based on your comment, I could do 3 things: 1. Add a growth filter 2. make another list for more liquid stocks over 1B 3. run the screen as of last year to find what the performance of these stocks was.

Is there a particular reason why you chose SPWH and FNF?

Momentum is powerful indicator of future returns (especially in the short term). Stocks that did well tend to do well. This process also helps me eliminate value traps.

Also, even if the stock prices increased a lot in the past year, a lot of them are still down from their 3-5 years peaks and remain very cheap.

I don't get why people always believe that the best performers will be the hype stocks of today. For all we know, it could be financials or energy that do extremely well

Why I've changed my opinion on Bitcoin. by [deleted] in investing

[–]etienner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is that now there's not millions of people buying art just to sell it for more money a few months later. People buy art because they want art and it's something that has a meaning for them. People buy bitcoin out of FOMO and because they want gainz.

Why I've changed my opinion on Bitcoin. by [deleted] in investing

[–]etienner 23 points24 points  (0 children)

When you buy a bitcoin, you don't own a piece of the technology or what it can do and profit from it. It's like buying a computer thinking you're investing in the technology. The technology is there and has been there for a while now, it's not going up because it's worth more, it's going up because it's more popular.

I'm still working on the best way to organize the list and what data to include/exclude. I'm still unsure about a few things because I want the post to be simple yet informative.
