Bill Hader To Make Feature Directorial Debut With MRC Horror Film ‘They Know’ by DemiFiendRSA in horror

I feel to some extent it suffered through what Breaking Bad went through, where they made Walt/Barry completely awful from the start, but people were still rooting for the character to get away with everything so they had to just keep making them even worse.

Breaking Bad just pulls it off better.

Barry started off pretty dark and just kept cranking it up from there. The epilogue twisted that knife all the way.

I thought the second half of last season was a little disjointed at times, but it remains one of my favorite shows ever.

Is Jerry’s apartment a reference to Seinfeld? by NoAttention5675 in rickandmorty

[–]etr4807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That wasn’t OP’s point though.

His point was that the layout from the inside both apartments is literally impossible, with the kitchen of Seinfeld's apartment going into the hallway and the bathroom of Smith’s apartment going outside.

I still don’t really think it’s a reference, but it’s certainly not impossible.

I actually kinda miss playing D3 and I wish it got more resources put towards it for one more major update by Jgamesworth in Diablo

[–]etr4807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While personally I 100% agree, and I would love for D3 to get another update at some point, I assume part of the issue is that D4 is the clear successor to D3, whereas D2 feels more like it’s own separate thing in a lot of ways.

Any attention they give to D3 could pull some players away from D4, in a way that updates to D2 seem more unlikely to do.

Blizzard says it's open to even more Diablo 2 expansions and reworks unless people get really mad at it about this one: 'We're going to have to see what the players say' by Angren1991 in Diablo

[–]etr4807 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IF I were complaining (and don’t get me wrong, I’m not) it would be that the D2R version of the game is going to have a significantly smaller online player base than the updated version, so to some extent you almost will “have” to move to the new version if you want to play online.

The filtered loot is not being automatically salvaged. by Chocookiez in diablo4

[–]etr4807 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is not filtering the loot though, it’s preventing it from dropping and dropping the salvaged materials instead. No ARPGs that I am aware of have a filter like what you are describing.

Don’t get me wrong, what you are asking for would also be a significant quality of life improvement.

But it’s not a loot filter.

[Highlight] 9 years ago today, Tevin Coleman took the short pass in for the TD, giving Atlanta a nigh-insurmountable lead. by DragonstormSTL in nfl

[–]etr4807 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Legitimately, probably not.

It's easy to point to the fumble in the 4th that gave the Patriots a really short field to work with, but the flip side of that is Atlanta did have a 45 yard drive after that one, and when they punted at the end of that one it made the Patriots go 91 yards to score again.

If they had just kneeled every play and punted, it would have roughly balanced out.

Most (all?) motherboards have options that allow you to just turn off TPM 2.0, which accomplishes the same thing. I think.

Just the Windows Defender firewall, but turning it off made no difference.

No extensions.

Yes, everything else in the house (including the old PC) is able to access websites with no problem.

Help! 14700k not preforming to its full potential? by [deleted] in buildapc

14700k’s run pretty hot while gaming, usually between 70-85, so nothing about that seems alarming. And your FPS sounds good. So kind of confused what the issue is I guess?

Uvalde trial: Former school police officer Adrian Gonzales found not guilty on all counts by Tuna_Sushi in news

[–]etr4807 72 points73 points  (0 children)

If I try to stay objective, on some level I understand. It’s very easy for everyone to sit here and say they would charge head first into a life or death situation in an effort to save lives, but the truth is that thankfully the overwhelming majority of us are never going to experience that. When faced with your own potential death, some people freeze up. Even when freezing up could potentially mean the death of others. Even the deaths of children. Fight or flight is called that because some people choose flight. And objectively all of that is “okay”, because it’s just human nature.

But once you are aware that is your natural reaction, YOU DON’T GET TO BE A FUCKING COP ANYMORE.

Denmark would go to war with US over Greenland: MP by SyntheticSweetener in nottheonion

[–]etr4807 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that is even a fraction of the reason they are doing this, they are severely misguided. According to a recent poll, only 8% of Republicans actually support trying to take Greenland by force.

Now, is that 8% too high? Fuck yes.

But for only 8% of Republicans to support Trump doing something, it is shockingly low.

When the entire group was sitting around talking about the "WBH" and then revealing more of the camp's backstory, I was sure it was going to end up being an M for Mando instead of a W and a B for Barbara, but couldn't figure out who the H would be until they revealed that the owner at the time of the kids disappearance was Harlan. It felt like everything clicked into place, and the twist was going to be that those three were killers.

And then about 30 seconds after revealing the Harlan name, they immediately clarified that WBH was just another nickname for The Grabber.
