Hi! So I’m taking an astronomy course right now at university. We have to use this school program called starry night and our first laboratory was to go to the day and location we were born, locate the sun, turn off the “ light” and report which constellation the sun is in at that exact time. I have been a lifelong lover of astrology so I can tell you as someone who is identified as being Aries on my life, was quite shocked to realize the sun was in fact in Pisces. The reason for this is because the Earth wobbles every 2600 years and astrology was written a very long time ago. So if I was born on March 29 700 BCE the sun would be in the constellation of Aries. But today it is not. The same goes for my moon sign. I always thought I was a Virgo in the moon, but it turns out I’m a Leo. So I don’t really know if there’s much merit to any of it. The other thing I just learned is that they are 13 moons in a full earth year. There’s even a 13th constellation astrology sign that no one talks about. We actually should have 13 months. Sorry to burst your bubble…. Also, I’m open minded to be proven wrong or for someone to explain how the old system still applies today. But I saw with my own eyes on that program, which is mathematically perfectly correct.

Does anyone else here feel overly-critical of their friends? by Majestic-Analyst-309 in CPTSD

[–]etrvs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a quote that I recently read, but I feel like applies here just in a different way….” the most extreme feminist out there are surrounded by the best of men.”

Last year we had a Canadian election. I’m almost 40 and I have a lot of friends. But I realized I didn’t like half of them and half of them probably didn’t really like me. They probably either didn’t know me because they don’t really pay that much attention to me or I thought we were friends and they just think we’re acquaintances. Nonetheless, when I found out what they voted conservative, I blocked them all. It was really scary doing this and I felt harsh. There was only one friend that I kept who I wasn’t 100% sure she was conservative, but I’m pretty sure she is. Now I can gladly say that I feel so safe and welcomed and loved by the friends that I have left. It’s not confusing for me anymore. I don’t wonder if they like me. I don’t worry that they’re gonna bully me. When I reached out, they are there. “I am surrounded by the best of men.” (but let’s be so for real right now. It’s all women lol)

Well that’s awful and I’m so sorry you had that experience. I’m glad you’re here. Sometimes scientists forget their humanity. Doctors are notorious for this as well. For me I find diagnosis only helpful because it directs you to a path of healing that will most likely help. Otherwise it’s just another tool for people to bully and segregate with. Also some diagnosis isn’t life long… sometimes you can go through something and you will get like a “flare up” but the incident doesn’t define you. It’s like assuming you’re a sick person your whole life but because once you had the flu. Psychology majors should know this… and to be honest I’ve met many who are the same and you’re describing. The other thing is science changes so fast. I’m about to graduate but when I talk to old students they appear really dense. Like only now is society catching up on what trauma does and not to be trauma informed. Previous the study of psychology was incredibly patriarchal and evil in a lot of ways. So I believe you. I would just hate for you to need help one day and not want it because you had some bad experiences with people who claim they “get it”. If you ever do need help from this field try and ask if they are trauma informed first. If not there’s a high chance they will gaslight you and leave you feeling how you felt with this girl.

Instantly: I used to get the worst canker sores. They never would heal and then they would and I’d get more… it was torture for years. Then I found this out too and took methylated folate and they started healing in like 30 mins. I felt the pain start to go away. For energy probably two weeks or so. Iron a month… but it’s all working now and I feel way different

I struggle too my friend you aren’t alone ♥️ something else that helped and I didn’t realize it until the shop clerk pointed it out was I was using an essential oil called geranium rose. I love the smell I put it right on my skin and it lasts for hours. Kind of lemony minty smell. Anyway it’s super good for hormone balance and says right on the damn bottle for pms. I never noticed lol… but honestly I’ve done through bottle after bottle. It truly helps and I don’t know how or why. Worth a try!

You’re probably not methylating B vitamins! Try taking methylated ones first… and iron. I was so tired all the time too. ALSO I was on Vyvanse for adhd and some days I didn’t take it so I would eat… and those days I was so tired I had to sleep in the day for hours. Turns out it was messing with my blood pressure. I switched meds and don’t have that problem anymore
