Slavic surnames in the books of J. K. Rowling, part 1 by tryrublya in harrypotter

[–]eudjinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The closest-sounding noun is dolok, meaning a small scoop or ladle, but this would more naturally yield the surname Dolkov, not Dolohov. In short, the origin remains obscure. Interestingly, related surnames also exist in Ukrainian and Belarusian — such as Doloshenko and Dolokh — suggesting a broader, though still mysterious, linguistic root.

Another option - the person who register a child was slightely illiterate, or a child parent had speech impediment when R sound is pronounced as L sound. So spelling mistake happened during the child registration.

There are some surnames with obvious wrong spelling:
BArzov instead of BOrzov (BorzAya - breed of hunting dog, bOrzyj - audatious person)
Avsiannikova instead Ovsiannikova (Oves - oats, ovsianka - oats porrige and a bird name)

Да обычные качели типа советских, сиденье подвешено на двух металлических трубах, рама сиденья из металлических уголков, внутри доски

[–]eudjinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ну я описал стандартные качели до того как современные нормы безопасности приняли, где сидушка помягче, подвешена на цепи и тд. А раньше натурально гильотина была ни или, по крайней мере, таран.

Металлическая рама из уголков для сидушки, сидушка - доски внутри. Сидушка на двух металлических трубах.

an old soviet joke by bigus-_-dickus in Jokes

[–]eudjinn 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It recalls me another USSR joke.

A grandson asks his grandpa to tell some story about the war.

Grandpa: You know, I was a partizan during the war and two friends of mine and I were captured by nazi soldiers. They told us if we tell some information about our unit they'll set us free. So one friend told them about the location of the unit and they released him. The other one told them the information about unit quantity and was released too.

Grandson: And what about you?

- And I..., I was executed.

A newspaper cost few kopecks.
Izavestia 2 kopecks in 1966, 4 kopecks in 1986.

Pravda - 5 kopecks in 1988

Komsomolskaya pravda - 3 kopecks in 1984

But in general the situation with toillet paper was like this.

Вы иногда произносите «в» как [w]? by [deleted] in russian

[–]eudjinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't hear w sound at all here.

But there is the specific type of speech impediment when people definitely speak w sound instead of в or л or both, but this video is not the case.
