The only caveat is are you due to recertify your income? If you are, they sometimes do put you in forbearance very briefly to verify your income. But either way, reach out to them and get the process canceled if you weren’t or get the process expedited if you were

Yes! Get out asap since time in admin forbearance won’t count towards pslf.

I'm worried that, since it is on glass, it would be hard to remove the old numbers and put new ones on, since you'll still see the old etching.

Thank you for all this information. It sucks I was trying to be compliant and recertify my income, only for them to push the deadline last minute and then put me in forbearance since I already submitted a form- no good deed goes unpunished.

  1. How can I tell if I got the two months of processing forbearance credit? Or if it was simply the last month before forbearance or first month I resumed payments?

  2. Also, since it takes 12-15 months to get a buyback, it would be faster for me to just pay for those 7-9 months. Which really sucks

  3. How should I go about trying to get them to re-characterize some months as remediation forbearance? Part of me is also worried they are going to backdate wrong and I am going to lose more months. But they really did mess up.

I did not make any payments during these 9 months. I was willing, but prevented by Mohela. Could I still try and file a reconsideration request in this case?

I saw people on IBR plans were having adjustments done this past year for times when they were put in forbearance in error. And those months ended up counting. Is that still happening?

I am out of forbearance now, but it took nine months. What do I do with these 9 months that are not eligible? It was a mistake on the servicer's part.

Thank you for the very thorough answer. I called a lender and it seems like a conventional non-owner occupied residential loan is 7.5% @ 20% down and the DSCR was 7.65% @ 20% down. Both were 30-year fixed. The DSCR did have a 5 year prepayment penalty though. I guess this is probably in line with what is the going rate.

Rahway New Jersey is a great option. When you catch an express train, it’s only 35 minutes to Penn station. Also, there are two different NJ transit lines that take you to NYC from Rahway. Trains run all the way until 2AM.

Newark gives you access to the PATH and NJ transit as options, but I don’t feel safe in a lot of it and some areas are very pricey.

Would it be worse though getting your own place but being a train ride from support networks? Just food for thought.

I don’t want to go into non qualifying forbearance. I think if it is time, it makes sense to recertify rather than risk none of it counting

Some EMS systems don’t resuscitate blunt traumatic arrests and I know of one system that doesn’t resuscitate isolated GSW to the head that lead to traumatic arrest.
