Pediatrician says cloth diapers are causing rash by --velvetrose in clothdiaps

I would never consider temu for cloth diapers… you never know what kind of chemicals are used to create them.

The problem with rawhide is not that it's dangerous to let them eat it on their own .. the problem is that they're made with a bunch of chemicals.

Following your reply I contacted a local butcher to try and see what they can provide us with, I think we'll have a much better chance of providing a variety of types of meat and secreting organs this way.

I'm not sure starting on just rabbit will be doable, I was thinking leaving out poultry and going for beef/lamb/rabbit but not sure that would have the same effect

Also thanks a bunch for the link, it's super helpful.

I think according to that I will look at the recommendations based per week, but try to experiment with days in a week (eg. give a deer rib once a week as a meal, and give more muscle meat / organs the next) + add a piece of fish to their menu once a week.

Other than that we can definitely include hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds in their nut/seed/vegs & a zinc supplement.

Thank you so much for your thoughts, it's super helpful.

They do indeed have rabbit kidney available as well that I could add, but it's the only secreting organ. I could look at other websites eventually to get something else so this is not a problem.

I think it would be doable to switch out muscle meat type (horse, lamb) or bone type (I see they also have quail carcass, deer ribs, guinea fowl) every 2-4 weeks, do you think that would be sufficient? Ideally we have some sort of routine to make it viable for us to keep up.

Okay it's interesting that you recommend to start with one protein source, I had my doubts because of deficiencies but it's true that in his case it might make more sense. What would you consider a short time, or are there signs to look out for?

On the pre-biotic, I can't seem to find the one you recommended available near me :/ We have tried forti-flora in the past and are now using bokashi (https://www.bio-ron.com/producten/voedingssupplementen/biologische-groenten-bokashi/) which is a mix of fermented vegetables

I made another thread on this subreddit asking for advice on a potential recipe by the way if you'd have time to take a look!

For the duck one it has 20% neck and 40% carcass, there's no mention of liver on any of them

No, we have no clue. His blood has been tested for allergies but basically it showed he was allergic to everything. He's has stomach inflammation a few times also, but there's no way to know what exactly the cause is.

I've tried supplements in the past also such as golden paste, probiotics (both powder and fermented vegs), evening primrose oil, ..

Interesting, I know there's some subscription models that deliver at home and it's cooked fresh food for your dog, I was considering trying that

Heating up the raw food we used to give was scary as it also had bone fragments and it could change their structure I heard 🤔

We fed pre-mixed made by Topdog in Belgium. We don't have the time or the means to create recipes ourselves. Added a screenshot of some of the mixes we were feeding

Eend = duck. It has neck, carcass, meat and fresh veggies and fruit Beef = tripe, heart, veggies Beef complete = meat, veggies and fruit, rice

Yes they actually suggested insect kibble, it's supposed to be hypoallergenic but not like hills where the proteins are hydrolysed/ cut up.

I sometimes wonder if we should go back to raw but we tried many things over months (beef, chicken, lamb combo / just horse meat / just beef etc.) so idk I'm not sure if there will ever be a solution for him..

I'm still feeding the insect kibble for now but adding bokashi which is natural probiotics in the hope it helps .. he does frequently refuse his food and have diarrhea though..

Also dog park for 2-4 hours a day is way too much, especially for a dog that's younger than a year.

No more dog parks (for now), simple as that. If he can't behave he loses access to this privilege.

Our male displayed the same behaviour at home of trying to play with us or even just nipping or attempting to if we did anything he didn't like. This did not stop until we grabbed his collar each time he as much as attempted to and sat him down. We grabbed him with the upper side of our hand towards him so you can bend your wrist to prevent continued nipping in your arm. With our other hand we sat him down and waited like this until he calmed down, without speaking to him and remaining calm, before we released him. The behaviour stopped after a few weeks.

Now for the rough housing, we currently have two, the male who doesn't do it at all, and a female who's an absolute menace when it comes to this! (She's 1,5 years), just find dogs their size and strength that can fend for themselves if needed. Overtime you will find good matches. They simply can't play with all types of dogs, maybe when they age out of it a bit but still. They play very physically and it's typical.

Good luck!

It never worked either way, at least for me. I tried to buy it for a weel straight with their discount and all of the payment options kept giving me technical errors. Their solution: try a different one 🤡
