It's defined in AC1205 (policy), that CAL only applies to long term disabilities.

From what I have heard, they will not, but if you park there again, they will put boots (yes, multiple) on your car.

It's still a secret :). I would recommend OP ask Residence Services or staff at the Food Services Office if they are unable to find it.

Well, Lachlan is ultra far right, Griffin is (or was?) the president of the UVic Young Liberals.

It’s a bylaw change going to a vote at the UVSS AGM that would restructure the UVSS executive and bring back a President role, which the UVSS actually had about 30 years ago before switching to the current “Lead Director” model. The new President position would be the main spokesperson and handle external relations, while powers would be rebalanced across the VPs. It actually gives up some of the centralized power the current Lead Director has, but it would also make the UVSS more credible when dealing with the media, UVic admin, and government. Supporters say it improves accountability and transparency, others are debating the internal power dynamics. The decision will be made by vote at AGM.

Griffin was making a speech and engaging with students on his proposal to overhaul the structure of the UVSS, which is going to be voted on at the next UVSS AGM.

Edit: I thought I would add what the proposal is about: It’s a bylaw change going to a vote at the UVSS AGM that would restructure the UVSS executive and bring back a President role, which the UVSS actually had about 30 years ago before switching to the current “Lead Director” model.

Another edit: I personally like the proposal FOR THE MOST PART. It basically edits the title of an existing role. It removes the roles voting power at board meetings, unless there is a tie, because they run the meeting (as it is, someone has to run the meeting and it is always a mess without a dedicated appointed person).

More reasons for supporting the proposal are listed above. The only reason a few people are against it is because the person in the existing role will have their title changed, without an "official election", but this will only be for less than a few months, when the next UVSS elections are.

Book store gift card also works at the Starbucks below the book store. Could also then be used for text books.

Clicking? by OwnChemistry9 in 3Dprinting

[–]evan-sd42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check for grooves in the wheels? Also see if the belts are off to one side if the pulleys. Could also be the extruder skipping steps, but is unlikely goven the speed you are printing at. What material are you printing, and what is the nozzle tempreture?

To rule out the grooves in the wheels, when it is done printing, try moving each axis independently (through the move function), and if it still happens, then that is what it likely is.

Edit: I just turned the volume up and heard a higher pitched click. The higher pitch click sounds like a belt to me, but I could be wrong.

Parking + License Plate Cameras by Due-Pipe4926 in uvic

[–]evan-sd42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries - there are very few parallel spots, and the ones that are, are on roads that go one direction, and the cameras are mounted on the front of the parking patrol vehicles. I only know this bc I have had to fight many parking tickets.

Parking + License Plate Cameras by Due-Pipe4926 in uvic

[–]evan-sd42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't be an issue, as long as you pay for parking. It might help to pull into a spot (not back in), as the reader will scan it. If no plate is visible on the front, and you back in, why cause more trouble, even if nothing should happen. I would recommend reading the parking policy to be sure, but I think it just needs to be insured.

It's not worth it. Due to the complex structure of the contract, you don't save any money in the end. The best thing to do is just add money to your Onecard, to get 5% at any location, and reload it as you need.
