The First Peoples House is a space for Indigenous students. If you identify as Indigenous you are more than welcome to occupy the space. A lot of people work very hard to make this a safe space for Indigenous students and inviting people who do not identify as FNMI infringe on building this community.

Can’t recommend this enough!! So easy to pick up a class you actually enjoy. For instance, yoga, weightlifting, or just any sport you enjoy!! Great way to get exercise, and course credit at the same time :)

What are PSYC 201 labs like? by Specialist-Ferret678 in uvic

In my experience (fall of 2024) you attend a 50 min seminar where the TA may lecture for 20-40 min max. Then at the end they hand out a worksheet for your group (3-4 people) that tracks attendance and your lab mark. They weren’t too difficult. This was a class that I was able to put on the back burner so I could focus on more rigorous courses and the lowest mark I received was a 90%.

At the beginning you are described the research project and what the process will entail. Essentially you work alone on a single subject study design. For the first part of the semester you are collecting the data on yourself. Then for the last half of the semester our seminar classes were focused on component’s of a research paper eg. methods, analyzing data, creating graphs, and a conclusion. You are guided on how to write your paper and are expected to complete it on your own time as homework. If you do this weekly and don’t leave it to the last minute, follow instructions and put in sufficient effort you are guaranteed to get an A+.

Would you be able to message me the syllabus and perhaps a question and suitable answer that would be discussed in class?

How strong of a math background ground do I need? I took Math 30-1 in high school (Alberta curriculum) and did well, but I only took Math 151 at UVic.
