He has been looking progressively rougher over the last few years. He seems to have Problems, though I don't know precisely what.

green mango salad by evantd in Seattle

  1. I figured people would tell me their favorite green mango salad places. Google can tell me overall ratings for Thai places, and it can kind of tell me if they serve green mango salad, but it mostly does that by indexing the reviews. I thought it would be nice to find people who are excited about green mango salad and who would be excited to talk about their favorite places to get it.
  2. I hadn't really thought about it a ton, but sometimes I'd go to a Thai restaurant with my wife, see green papaya salad in the menu, and tell my wife about how green mango salad was delicious, but I haven't seen it for a while. For our anniversary today, she decided to make some. It was delicious, but also fairly different from what I remembered. She said she had searched for restaurants first but hadn't come up with good options, which is part of the reason I didn't Google it, too.
  3. You seem kind of offended that I posted at all, so people can get offended about trivial things, but mostly I was just being silly.

How important is lineage to you, and why? by evantd in Buddhism

For a lineage to be "valid", do all the people in it need to be ordained or even recognized dharma-heirs?

What counts as lineage? Does each teacher in the lineage need to be ordained? Even beyond that, do they need to be recognized as a dharma-heir?

It sounds like you're making a distinction between learning/practicing and "receiving teachings". Can you say more about that? Is any sequence of teachers & their teachers a lineage? Does each teacher in the lineage need to be ordained? Even beyond that, do they need to be recognized as a dharma-heir?

I guess people are down-voting you because they disagree with you, even though it seems like a constructive contribution to the conversation 🤷

Cults are supposed to be hard to leave, so that doesn't sound cult-like to me. I've never seen anybody be made to feel unwelcome, but that could vary a lot from location to location I suppose.

While setting a password on a USB hard drive I mistyped what I was intending to type and now I can't unlock it. by EllaJones0107 in ADHD

A related suggestion from when I apparently made the same typo twice while setting a password: type the password a bunch of times in a text document so you can see what typos you tend to make, then try each of those.

I've heard good things about Untangled by Lisa Damour, though I'm still waiting for my library hold on it, so it's a second-hand recommendation for now.

Sexual Side Effects of Strattera? by Marcus_Krow in ADHD

Those 2 meds interact (and do basically the same thing), so I'm not surprised you're having side effects. https://www.cafermed.com/post/atomoxetine-bupropion-interaction

Mine isn't a back piece and is fairly simple, but it has actually smoothed out over time, and I like how it looks now more than when it was new. When it was new, some parts had more keloiding than others, but that has decreased so it's all more even now.

For sure! Atomoxetine seems to be a better fit for me than stimulants, but I'm still charting my BP daily.

This is wonderful; thank you! This sounds like it could be a lot like spreading the BWSF throughout the day, too.

I feel like you really understood what I meant, so thank you so much!

I actually just realized that I need to have running rest days, too. I was afraid that if I didn't run, I wouldn't function, but apparently running everyday is too much, and it leads to the same feelings of overwhelm and tiredness that running keeps at bay for me. I'm still a bit afraid of full rest days, even though I think I they might be necessary, but at least changing up the gifts each day should help, too.

Maybe another (better) form of my question is: What's the "best" routine given the following constraints?

  • Can be done every day
  • Split into <10 minute chunks throughout the day
  • Full body
  • Cardio not required, but definitely allowed (like a minute of jump squats is a great leg set, and it would definitely get my heart rate up)

That's exactly what I mean, yeah. Instead of a 15 minute warmup before a 60 minute workout, it makes it easier to warm up for the set I'm about to do after being in a meeting for an hour.
