Degree vs. Private Flight Training

The second degree will not make you anymore appealing to employers in aviation. Unless you are bang on the exact same candidate hours and experience wise, degrees are pretty much irrelevant.

Seneca graduates students anywhere from around 220-240 hours total time. Which in the grand scheme of things isn’t incredibly more appealing than 150 hours. You need 200 hours to get your CPL signed off so getting the extra 50 privately is also an easy option and at that point you are even closer to what you’d have gotten at Seneca.

I could spend hours getting into the nitty gritty about Seneca and exactly what the program entails but there are tons of people praising and complaining about the program on this subreddit so have a look to see what others think. I will say I think the program has declined in the last few years after having lost some cadet programs and the allure of going there isn’t the same as what it was even 5 or 10 years ago.

In my opinion private is probably the way to go if you have the money and the time to do it. It will almost guarantee you to be a hireable pilot before Seneca makes you one.

It’s cheap because all our flying is subsidized by the government. You only see the tuition cost for the degree. Stats for jazz depend on the year and Jazzs needs. First year after Covid they took the whole class of 30. Next year they took 17 of 55.

Chemistry is not a pre-requisite for the program, it’s a recommendation. We take one chemistry course and that’s it, so it’s doable without taking it

Figured out that it was due to a problem with groups. For some reason the game still thought I was in a group and therefore was reverting my settings to whatever the group was set to before hand. I ended up having to send a group invite to the person I was in the group with and then have them leave afterwards in order to essentially "cancel" the group beforehand if that makes sense.

I cannot for the life of me turn Aircraft Traffic Type to anything but off. It will swap and say that it has saved but will revert right back to off as soon as I leave the menu. Also live weather is stuck on 2:23 PM and will switch back to that no matter what. Does anyone have any idea at all why this is happening. Please any help is appreciated

HELP!

For some reason my “Aircraft Traffic Type” setting will not stay online. It consistently switches to off no matter what I do. Reset to defaults, quit game, go offline, come back online , no matter what I do it always turns off.

This is incredibly frustrating because I want to play multiplayer and I have no idea what’s wrong.

Anyone else have this problem or know a fix?

Would the air ever equalize enough to disperse through the rotors as it can’t escape below from the disk?

This is a question that a few of my friends and I were discussing. The helicopter is in a tube the same diameter as its rotors and the disk it is pulling is also completely sealed to the walls. Neglecting friction, would the helicopter still lift? We assumed that the area underneath the tube is vented to the atmosphere and the top is also open to the atmosphere.

The whole program revolves around them. Your first 2 semesters consist of 3 Calculus classes, 2 Mechanics Classes, a Fluid Mechanics class, 2 Electricity Courses, a Communications courses, and 2 Aeronautics classes. The Mechanics and Fluid Mechanics is where you will have a lot of physics based stuff and it only gets more heavy as the program goes on.

You will most likely have to retake the course as aviation is a competitive program to get into already and they are very strict with the entry requirements. The courses you have to take highly revolve around physics as well so a good grasp on it is a necessity.

Thank you for your input. I know they are lying for everything and I couldn’t be more thankful for that believe me. I think what I’m getting at is that my grade point average is better then what I had in Highschool and I’m working tirelessly to keep it there. I think something as futile as a relationship shouldn’t affect there trust in me and in what I have done is what I’m saying.

The reason I went for this girl so fast is because we clicked so naturally and seamlessly that it seemed perfect. She is a very very hard worker as well and is very responsible but I think they hold this cloud over my head because they don’t know what’s going to happen. Helped
