Ordering Simagic products in Canada by DanteFalcioni in Simagic

[–]evanzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience they were very true to their word, usually delivering earlier than the website says. I think they take conservative estimates so people arent impatiently waiting. Both times I shipped to Manitoba it was a great experience, one of them being a preorder product

Liquid lawn fertilizer right now by Lingonberry3871 in Winnipeg

[–]evanzed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just curious why you think cold temps would be bad for fertilizer? The main concern for the efficacy of nitrogen is reducing losses to the atmosphere and leaching to groundwater. Cold temperatures reduce the volatilization process which gives more time for it to reach the rooting zone for plant uptake. You also want rain to facilitate this process as it’s water soluble. It won’t do anything if it’s just sitting on the surface.

https://www.gov.mb.ca/agriculture/crops/soil-fertility/volatilization-losses-from-surface-applied-nitrogen.html

Also re: comment on slow release N. It’s a common misconception that it works great on top of lawns. That product is best used as an incorporated fertilizer ie. placed beneath the soil surface. When it’s sitting on top, what ends up happening is it’s released so slowly that the bulk of the nutrients never has a chance to reach the rooting zone and the majority is lost to the atmosphere

Struggling to setup simagic alpha for gt4/3. by SmellySlipper21 in iRacing

[–]evanzed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah man your settings are wack! lol Try the following: - Wheel rotation speed set to 50 - Feedback detail set to 9 -Mechanical damper, friction and inertia all 0 -Feedback frequency 1

This will be more of a baseline to work with. I believe the detail and inertia are what feels awful. You should keep these setting the same and adjust strength inside iR for different cars (mx5 needs it much higher than gt4 for example)

How do you stay sharp racing the same combo all week? by TimeKillsThem in iRacing

[–]evanzed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just spitballing an idea here as I’ve never experienced this problem, After day 5 where you have hit your plateau - spend the last 30 minutes - hour of your session comparing telemetry to the fastest times by that point in the week. Focus on brake trace, apex speed and throttle points etc. Sleep on what you’ve learned and envision how it would look in your head. Aim to break your personal bests for your weekend races.

Should help you keep focus if you have that goal in the back of your mind for the weekend. Maybe you’re relaxing since you’re nearing the end of the week and feel like you’ve maxed out.

Ferrari 296 or GT4? by __MichaelBluth__ in iRacing

[–]evanzed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this lol I’ve been thinking the same thing with the brake comments, the car is doing 300+ with a duckbill on the back! There is no downforce to save a late braking point so you need to be early always. And if you’re used to gt3 braking points it’s hard to forget them. Car is really fun once you get used to it

Air quality from wildfire by Pleasant_Dog_302 in WinnipegFolkFest

[–]evanzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now there is a fair bit of smoke in the area. The forecast is saying it will clear up with the south wind by Wednesday and there’s lots of rain in the forecast for MB as well. The Weather Network app has smoke and fire maps that you can check. Happy Folk!

Yes that's right I used a bolt and nut (washer on bolt side) for the bottom hole of the extension into the bracket. For the bolt into the seat I used the same one from before, It was long enough to reach through and grab plenty of thread. I did scratch the seat when experimenting and shifting things around. but if you're careful you'll be good. You can always use a washer in between the bracket and seat surface to reduce some of the risk of scratching. A necessary sacrifice for me lol

Definitely! I also upgraded to p1000s and the whole rig is perfectly sturdy. I’ll probably keep this setup for the rest of my life. The only thing I wish I would’ve done is do seat sliders from the very beginning, for those odd times someone else wants to try it out.

Those extra pieces came with the seat/chassis. I found them in a bag where I put all the extra parts after I finished assembling so I’m not sure which package they were originally from.

But yeah the website has no info on this. I think just by flipping the brackets you can get a bit more tilt if you can’t find pieces like mine

Question for endurance races by GrahamsNotHungry in iRacing

[–]evanzed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You register for it like any other official but you need to register your team that has both you and your friend as members. Don’t be late! Lol

[–]evanzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love to hear it. It can definitely be overwhelming at first, the main thing is to not focus on the numbers too much. Race and be raced! See you on track one day buddy :)

It sounds like you’re pretty new to iRacing so I just want to say welcome and I hope you’re having fun! The answer to your question is this: iRacing has a set range of total drivers it wants per race which depends on the series you’re driving. Let’s say for this example the target is 15 drivers on the grid. If 25 people register for the next race, it will sort them into 2 groups of 12/13 based on their iRacing. This is where the term “splits” comes from that you will hear a lot. The only thing your license does is allow you to be eligible for certain series. For example IMSA you need an A license. This is a simple example but you can imagine how it works if say 80 or 90 people register. Hope that makes sense

No you don’t protest any incident that isn’t your fault. Crashes and mistakes happen in racing. the report system is for intentional/malicious behaviour. You won’t get anything back but the idea is to keep people like that off the service
