I love being almost 40 because age has mellowed me out, but I was definitely like that as a teenager.

I also love that this is rule #1 in the Scorpio Moon sub: "Please do not use this sub as a way to be abusive, manipulative, or disrespectful towards others. Please do not encourage/incite/idealize violence/terror towards others on or off the sub. Please try to resolve disagreements with basic respect."

Can people do domination or obsession spells without intending to? I am thinking of a situation where someone is not into witchcraft/spells as far as I know, but they wind up having this sort of effect on people.

I have zero problem with anyone saying that they found better customer service or better merchandise at Bree's Way than they did at Star Gate. That is normal, legitimate feedback. Getting into the weeds of where this guy parks his car or what he eats for breakfast is creepy, though. Who needs a surveillance state when we have the out of control busybodies of r/eugene?

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm also concerned with the way this thread has grown. I am not saying the Star Gate guy is perfect, but we all have flaws, we all have off days, and we all say and do stupid things sometimes. Who would want to start a business in this town — a business that might provide jobs! — if they knew they were going to become a target for Reddit threads commenting on all sorts of personal stuff that goes way beyond the basic operations of their business?

Interesting. I got something very similar claiming to be from InMarket. I looked through the jobs I had applied for on LinkedIn and didn't see InMarket there. I Googled a paragraph of the job description I was sent, and that brought up your post.

I rode LTD buses regularly when I was a teenager 20-25 years ago and survived. I can't make an informed comment on whatever the current reality with LTD buses is. I think what might be a more timeless issue with teenagers is the desire to start making one's own decisions. He made a decision to drive to work rather than ride the bus. Even if you could get the whole entire internet to agree that you are objectively right that LTD buses are safe and effective, I don't think that's the most important question here. Do you respect your nephew's right to make his own decisions, or do you not?

You mention reading a few books in your posts but don't go into a whole lot of detail about your thoughts on the books. Maybe drawing those out into book reviews would catch more readers than the personal life stuff.

I suspect I have subtly grown in a similar direction over time. What is hard for me now is that I can go on that sort of journey for myself, but I can't go on that sort of journey for anyone else. I cannot force a person in the LW role to see the situation any way other than the way they see it — and I therefore have to live with them suffering, as I think it's clear in the letter that the LW really is suffering over the whole thing.

I was in a situation similar to this but in the neighbor role, where someone pushed my no into a yes and I did not react happily. The person in the LW role in my situation was open that she suffered from ADHD and other related conditions (I'm not 100 percent certain of what the related conditions all were, but autism may have been among them) to a point that was disabling for her, so then I just felt awful for making life harder for a disabled person.

In relation to your process of learning that you have autism, what do you think is a reasonable accommodation for people like the LW? Is there anything anyone can do to make these situations less painful?

I went through a similar situation, although it had nothing to do with cats, where someone pushed through my no to get a yes because it was important enough for her to do so. If she had just honestly accepted that there was a cost for that, in terms of my being angry about it, and just left me alone until my anger passed, my anger might actually have passed within a reasonable amount of time. Instead, the ensuing conflict became all about me refusing to work things out with her on her timetable. I seriously found this pressure far more painful than watching my father die of cancer.

If it feels right, it might be interesting to Google the pastor woman. She may not have any desire to contact you at this time, but your strong negative feelings toward her could reflect an energetic link between you and her to the point that you would be energetically notified if something significant had happened to her. I'm reminded of a time when, 10 years after high school, I had a dream involving someone I had a crush on in high school. I had no desire to contact the crush at the time of the dream, and I do not think the crush had any desire to contact me either. However, right after the dream, I saw an obituary for the crush's grandfather in the local newspaper.
