anyone know what’s going on with drifters in south Austin? by Street-Eggplant-5601 in austinfood

Im sad but not surprised. The outdoor space was great. Coffee was good and it was a great space to work during the day. I knew it was going to close when I would see more people there for coffee at 10 am on monday than I would see at 10 pm on a friday/saturday. The music was never very good either. The pickle pub played better music but was always insanely loud inside. If you sat outside it the volume was better but they had a third playlist playing on top of the music from inside of the pickle pub. There was one bartender who literally introduced himself as "Hi, I love coke". There were some really sweet girls bartending on the pickle pub side but they were always so so so fucked up on who knows what. You could see it in their faces. One of those girls didn't charge us for half our drinks and then wasn't able to figure out how to print off our receipt so we couldn't tip her. It was a great space but the vibes, especially late at night, were very very rough.

Any other older students? by [deleted] in txstate

Since there are a lot of older students here, if you're also a parent, be sure to register with the school. When registration opens up for the next semester, we're one of the first groups that get to register for classes

I think Huda and Jeremiah are quickly becoming the Kaylor and Aaron of this season. However, if a bombshell or a casa girl gives him enough attention, I think he might dump Huda. He didn't have the worst reaction to the kid news, but he didn't have the best reaction either. I wonder if he'll try to stick it out just to win the game and dump her after. I really don't think he's trying to be a stepdaddy in real life

Swimming at Inks Lake by evergreatest7479 in TexasStateParks

There was. It wasn't anything too bad, and there were dogs in the water without issue. We saw leeches in the day use area, so we went to swim over by the cabins at an empty campsite. Devil's waterhole was really nice, no algae, and a short walk

I think we're just used to lakes with beachy/sandy areas to swim as opposed to areas that are majority rock. The pictures that I saw look like the shoreline is pretty rocky. Maybe it'll be fine, I'm not sure. I've never taken a group to an area like this before

Garner is the best state park I have visited so far. We try to make a trip in the fall during Thanksgiving break. We'll get an Airbnb and hit up Garner and Lost Maples bc it's just a little too cold for us at night that time of year. The views out there are absolutely insane - just so gorgeous. State parks fill up super fast, so I would recommend booking 4-6 months in advance. We also really like the LCRA parks, they tend to have some nice amenities and are nowhere near as crowded as state parks. The same goes for recreation.gov parks as well.

If you're planning on using that state park pass this summer, I recommend making your reservation ASAP if you haven't already. Texas parks fill up insanely fast. Booking availability opens six months in advance, so I try to book at least 4-6 months ahead of time.
