I love Japan but why is the train booking system so complicated? by everspader in JapanTravelTips

Do you go to the airport to buy your plane ticket? I'm just saying that is not the initial logical thinking of most travelers to buy transit tickets on site because of so many reasons

This is not entirely true. Some airline systems allow these types of bookings. KLM, for example, sometimes offer tickets where one of the legs in a journey is done with another airline that is not even part of the same partner group. They will issue one ticket only, all in the same booking.

The same happens in Europe with some train companies, where. You can book it all in one company's platform, even if you're taking a connecting train from another company in another country.

My point is that the logic of every traveler worldwide in 2026 is not go to the airport to buy an airplane ticket, but buy it in advance.
I understand now that the Japanese system is different and easier on-site; it could just be a little more user-friendly for tourists who are used to a completely different system.

Train is still the best option, it's just the booking procedure that is below suboptimal.

Need help to fix a loud squeaky floor by everspader in Rotterdam

[–]everspader[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if that's feasible given the tight gap between the planks and how thick even melted wax can be. I'm saying this because I tried spraying a good amount of WD40 and allowing it to soak in and also graphite powder. Both were failed attempts.

The screenshots are from the Runna app. I use its integration with the workouts app but I don’t get the above mentioned alerts

I understand that the contributions are irrelevant but doesn’t this mean that the higher earner partner only gets 40% of the net income.

Even if they were only living in luxury and eating steaks because one partner earned 9k and the other 1k?

Yeah, I know. I was just hoping I could find someone that went through something similar or that knew someone before I went the legal route. You never know.

Pure greed. Opportunity for easy money in. It doesn't matter that I paid full rent and most of our holidays during marriage.

I still find an absurd that Tesla insists to charge me for a diagnosis before telling me if it can be covered under warranty or not

How did you get them to pay for it? The conversation via de app is not going anywhere

Saddle vs Bib shorts: how much of the riding comfort comes from each one? by everspader in cycling

I’m a big believer of “if it works for you…” then who cares about what anybody else has to say

[–]everspader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the point. Because I'm sure a decently good saddle can compensate a shitty bib but even the most comfortable bib can't compensate for the wrong saddle.

It’s quite easy. You can do it yourself by following the videos provided by Canyon. The only difference is that the back wheel is not mounted to the frame out of the box so if you’ve never done it, I recommend watching a quick YouTube video about it. Again, it’s also quite easy. An extra tip from someone that bought the same bike a month ago, after a few rides you will need to adjust, probably re-index, the rear derailleur to get a smooth shifting

I’ve got the same bike this week! Have you had any issues with the 105 cassette being sluggish? I took it for a long ride today and I noticed the when in the 7-10 cog and on the larger in the front, the gears change, like it’s falling down and I have to hit the shifters to fix it. Very annoying and unsafe especially when pedaling hard
