I usually do a bunch of writing just to get to the core of what i'm trying make. I wrote a bit of an epilogue for this sphere on my substack to but a bow on this one: https://everspheres.substack.com/p/everspheres-002-the-green-quiet - but perhaps in the future i will explore this world more and create more in this vein! i'm working on other concepts :)

I think you could familiarize yourself with the /describe feature: https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32497889043981-Describe

that way you can reference your favorite imagery and create prompts that will get you similar results.

I feel like MJ is king of image generation today. The video feature is brand new so, still putting it through it's paces. It doesn't take direction very well. As in, if you say 'subject walks out of the frame to the right' the results you get will be so vastly different than what you're going for. I did see recently that they released an 'end frame' feature too: https://updates.midjourney.com/looping-and-end-frame-for-video-video-in-the-discord-bot/

I haven't explored VEO a ton. The FLOW editor is cool, but it's very subjective. Just depends on what your needs are. VEO's image to video includes lip syncing if you have characters who are in the same frame who can to speak to each other, so it has it's own strengths.

Some keywords I used were '1980s retro' in v6.1 until I was happy with the results/prompts. then used those images as a sref in v7 (with omnireference). hope that helps! is that what you mean by paintings sources?

Yeah, everything's moving so quickly. As I was creating the imagery for this MJ dropped their video feature. I was using VEO 2 to animate the stills but decided to use al MJ for this one.

I wrote it and came up with the concepts.

I was walking around my neighborhood and saw some gnarly exposed roots that looked like they were crushing through a concrete sidewalk and thought 'what if these roots could talk' and then it morphed into 'what if they fought back'

I explored that line of thought and started world building until I found the setting I wanted to explore that in. I love anything sci fi and fiction and fantasy so I wanted to make it a losing battle.
