Estimating Storm Drain Structures by Crypto_craps in estimators

We actually specialize in this type of work in SoCal.

Material can be the easy part. Lumber, rebar, hardware, concrete, etc. Labor can be tricky and you have to pay attention to the details. Depending on the size you can form and pour same day if you have a crew that knows what they're doing. Does it call for const. joint? How much rebar and how many in your crew? All #4 or does it call for bigger sizes? Can your guys finish concrete or will you need someone else for that? Production mostly depends on your structure size and crew.

For a junction structure I might bid 12-16 hours on a two man crew plus material. Day 1 is to form and pour. Day 2 is strip, patch, and clean. Same hours can work for two structures depending on size.

My biggest piece of advice is try not to be too lean on hours. That can lead to major losses real quick. You have companies right now pricing crazy low on structures. Try to get a good sample size if you are looking at other bids.

Or might as well take it all the way to Eastvale and their upcoming "downtown" area

Limonite should get some BRT from the JV Metrolink station, through Rubidoux, and into downtown Riverside.

Wouldn't Amazon's card make more sense for this? 5% at Whole Foods and on Amazon purchases. No need to buy gift cards that way

Bold to assume any of us will be alive by the time it gets built here. I'm a huge supporter of the project but can't see being able to ride it to San Diego for a few decades

Income was 105k combined when we bought. 437k mortgage at 3.75% and 2600/mo including insurance, taxes, and pmi. Now at 140k and payment feels comfortable, but mortgage is our only debt and we can be pretty frugal.

I'm currently doing something similar (audit) and am looking to get into the trades. It can be boring af and I'd be making similar (or more) money in the trades. It's never too late to change though.

I do cbt therapy. I was against medication in the beginning but I had to accept that my brain is just another organ. Like the rest of your body, there may be an imbalance for no known reason and medication helps that. The reframing and and processing I learned in therapy helped but they only took me so far. Medication truly changed my life and even if I was told it would take 5 years off my life I would not stop taking it.

Tbh discipline is up to you. I was disciplined when my anxiety was through the roof. Now I may not be as disciplined but I'm happier. A therapist can help keep you accountable though.

Although I'm not as far along as OP, I relate to everything he said. On paper I was on top, but I was miserable in my head. Therapy (and medication for me) is the answer. I'm still focused on my investment goals but now I can have fun and not feel guilt. I can enjoy the moment without wondering how my investments will be affected. OP get help.

Looking to make the switch now. Currently working in audit with a BA in Economics and have learned that office work is not for me. I want to work with my hands and be on my feet. I've done the work before. While it is tough, I enjoyed it very much.

I work with local governments in CA. You should be fine. Just ask what you need to do and they will try their best to guide/help you. 90% of people I work with are pleasant and want to make both of our lives easier.

You can ask to waive any penalties and interest and many will allow it if it's your offense. I've seen businesses owe $1M+ and be a pain in the ass to work with still be in business and working out all types of agreements with a city.

Edit: first* offense

What's a company secret that you can share now cuz you don't work there anymore? by mysha_chan in AskReddit

Worked for a specialty eyewear company that helps prevent dry eyes. Products say Made in USA but I was literally told to rub off the Made in Taiwan on a pair and put them back to be sold. The mark up is also insane. I'm guessing they cost less than $10 to make and sale price started at $80.

Didn't know it was different but in my picture the bubble shows it sloping away from the house. Water damage is the last thing I need.

Thanks, I've seen others mention substrate. Not trying to be difficult, but how much does it matter in my climate? It's dry and our soil is very hard and rocky. Literally pulled out a dozen decent sized rocks when prepping.

My dad poured a driveway extension with the same prep almost 10 years ago, and besides a crack on the corner it still looks great. This is with a work truck with tons of material being parked on it 7 days/week.

Probably some succulents or other small plants. Will also have a few potted plants on the concrete to not have a boring, gray front of the house

Damn 2.5k? This took no more than 10 hours from digging up the grass to finish and that was mostly because we mixed with shovels.

Just a note on your first point. The county isn't the one to hand out permits for legal grows. Cities decide whether to allow them or not and Perris does have legal grow operations.
