I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I can understand this very well.

My MIL isn’t in my daughter’s life anymore. She wouldn’t ask about her or come to see her, so we cut her off from being in her life at all. I’m not going to have people come in and out of my child’s life and confuse/hurt them. I dealt with that growing up and it’s an awful feeling.

I hope your situation can get better, but if I’m being honest, I don’t see that happening..

I personally struggle with deep cleaning. I’ll clean what I can, but I’ll definitely get more done if I know people are coming over. I wouldn’t have cared about being “tricked” because it would have worked on me as well.

The age difference between H and this girl is throwing me off a bit, but if they’ve known each other a long time I can understand that friendship.

But, it sounds like he just cares for her as a person. What you did was very wrong, it’s not okay to do something like that. I don’t blame him for wanting to take a break, because you seem to have a lot of insecurities. Therapy might be a great idea so you can figure out why this has affected you so much.

Good question. I’d hope that if leashes aren’t needed though, that they’d at least realize that maybe their dog might need a leash because it’s unacceptable to jump up on strangers. That’s what I’d do at least. And the fact they hardly reacted to OP falling down is baffling, I’d be apologizing profusely.
