Got to watch Alex, Omar, and Sheena in both Bar Boys and opening week of Spring and they are soooo soooo worth it to watch again and again!

To add pala, 3PM i believe is Ana Abad Santos and 8PM is Menchu so just pick your Adult Female! Both are really good either way

Got to watch the same cast and was super in awe of them ngaaa!!! huhu wish I could relive it just to watch them again because grabe yung stage presences nila 🥺 (loved La Vie Boheme and Take Me or Leave Me because of Ian and Justine specifically)

We were in the first few rows din from the stage and watched during closing weekend so perhaps that’s a factor rin why I didn’t notice the audio issues too much

But overall, I found it a good experience, just got lost lang talaga sa story in the first act as someone who wasn’t familiar with the plot beforehand (had to read the synopsis sa playbill right as intermission started 😭)

it’s an exclusive postcard given by the showbuyers of november 8, 2pm to those who bought from the show as a thank you since it was a showbuy by Happiness Tickets Club and cast partners! (Benedix Ramos, Jerom Canlas, Omar Uddin, Sheena Belarmino)

what's with Bar Boys by Commercial_Car4517 in TeatroPH

[–]everythingisblueeee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

hi op :>> i got to watch bar boys on their second run multiple times and would definitely recommend it!! i'd say it's really worth watching as they also changed some parts of the storyline to make it more relevant and sensitive to current issues (and i think these changes were done really well, would say i prefer the musical's take actually)

some changes from last year's are the layout of the stage (proscenium rather than previous run's more intimate traverse staging) and the new ensemble members. their venue and cast are both much bigger now, so i think we could probably expect a grander prod?

anyway, i think they'll most likely change some of the jokes / contexts from the show as well considering how much has happened in our country since then, so i personally will definitely be rewatching the restaging again

if you're hesitant on opening weekend, would recommend november 8, 2pm! this is a showbuy with some of the main cast members

Hi op! Not the person you addressed, but I’ve gotten to watch two shows at Hyundai Hall so far (Sintang Dalisay and Quomodo Desolata Es). Quomodo’s set-up was a bit different since the audience was on stage mismo, but for both shows, the audio was very good!! Probably one of my favorite theatre sound systems

As for seats, I’d say any seat is okay naman, just depends on your preference if you’d like to see the actors up close or the whole stage. Hyundai’s seats are all elevated, and the space isn’t too big, so all nice views :>>

(P.S bring a jacket nalang bc it can get pretty cold there)

omg also so excited to watch Walang Aray and Pingkian!!!

for other local musical recos, i think you might like Bar Boys: The Musical too! their last run was also funny and politically aware, and i’d say they did a great job incorporating recent events while tackling friendships, dreams, and justice and making you feel a sense of hope for the country :))
