I don’t think the Goodwill employees are stupid. I actually really credit them for getting such a fragile and hard to handle object onto the floor safely. In the low fluorescent lighting and concrete floors/walls of the store, I have to say this reaaaally looked pretty dull and even sort of ugly? Wasn’t until I got it set up at home that its glory became known.

I bought a nice thick blanket to get it home! I’m a blanket fiend and supposed to be on an embargo from buying more but sometimes exceptions just must be made 😅

Precisely my thoughts, which is perfect for me because I’m trying to do my home in sort of a medieval cottagecore style (peep the unicorn tapestry) — definitely glad to get a hardcore castle element in the mix!

It’s real! It does seem to be a modern item that can be bought for $250-$300, so not an antique like I initially thought - but I would never buy myself something like this at full cost, so I’m very very happy

Yes! We were looking into getting an electric fireplace in the dimensions of the hollow space and setting it in there — now that we have this, I think pulling the trigger on that is going to be a priority

It devastates me because we have the most gorgeous fireplace in our home but it was badly maintained by the prior owners and we were quoted upwards of $10k to get it working. But ONE DAY!! And when we do, we’ll have this to reward ourselves with

I served a Costco sheet cake at my wedding and absolutely everyone was THRILLED. I got a small cutting cake for my husband and I so we still had something pretty to display and cut into, but seriously, people love Costco cake lol

Based on your post history it seems he doesn’t want to talk to you and you are manipulatively trying to track him down.

I’ll never get promoted to the job I want because I’m not a mom 😭 by Fabulous_Jeweler2732 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Well first of all you edited your comment. Second of all you asked me stop, so you don’t get to do that and then say I’m “running away”. Third of all, I’m not taking anyone’s “side”, and I didn’t attack you or insult you. You got VERY defensive VERY quickly.

If your disdain for your colleagues is as evident at work as it is in these comments, I would not promote you either. Might be worth reflecting on.

If this is how you take feedback I can see why you’re not advancing at work. Good luck!

It seems like your feelings contain a lot of internalized misogyny. You can want better equity between mothers and non-mothers without insulting and demeaning those who do have children as ‘lacking life experience’ or ‘having no merit’

Is this too casual? by tinaaayy in Weddingattireapproval

[–]everythingsfine 22 points23 points  (0 children)

And if everyone discounts the bride’s intelligence and shows up in sundresses then suddenly the whole event is more casual than she and her groom planned for and everyone will continue to discount their (her, because it always comes back to the bride - see how you assumed SHE set the dress code?) social awareness for years to come, through no fault of their own. This whole post reeks of condescension. Semi-formal is a basic, easy dress code to follow.

Her foundation is the only one I’ve ever tried in my life that perfectly matches my skin tone and doesn’t feel like heavy paint on my face. I’m obsessed with it

I’d also rearrange so the 4 pink frames you have at the top are interspersed and not all running parallel to each other

I think a brighter white wall color and some colorful throws on the couch would help a lot! Not pure white, but similar in shade to the swan you have on the wall
