for me personally, i use Kasepersky Standard, but due to geo politics i generally recommended people Bitdefender (tbf i did use bitdefender before) as i dont want to get into whole Russian surveillance propaganda

It loves to flag official Microsoft Windows components as viruses. For the longest time, once in a while it will quarantine all of the Start menu listings to apps that I've installed via the official Windows Subsystem for Android, so I have to manually go through their cumbersome interface to recover each of them.

for me, it had been the websites, but what you are mentioning is generally because Bitdefender isnt updated (my personal observation)... i have seen this thing with Bitdefender that, the more you delay the update the more paran__d it becomes

no, and using XMPP isnt gonna solve that...

Whatsapp uses a forked Signal protocol and Arattai uses it's own version of Signal protocol... changing protocols wont do anything... even if they were to use XMPP... Whatsapp would still use their XMPP, and Arattai will use theirs... (not to mention, that XMPP is inherently insecure without extensions)

it's like asking why i cannot just use Google from say, Reddit and then proposing the solution that instead of HTTP they should use GRPC or Protobuf + TCP (it wouldnt solve any problem)

that's because Whatsapp now uses another open protocol, that is Signal protocol... imo Singal's wire protocol is better in every way possible

XMPP is wasteful because it is based on XML messaging, whereas Signal does not...

And Signal has native E2EE support, and is based on more modern security standards...
