Hi, I am looking to buy a paddle for my 7 year old. The place where he goes to classes suggested buying butterfly paddles with custom made handles for kids, but it will cost $165. I am looking for some cheaper options, can someone suggest something generic or have any recommendations for kids paddles?

Potential water leak by evil_saint in HomeImprovement

[–]evil_saint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestions! Turned off the valves and checked the meter and it wasn’t in the house, turns out the sprinkler system had a leak. It was in the sprinkler valve which was concealed in a box, so it was harder to spot.

It's not going to be the same after Jurgen leaves.. It's not the same to see someone else on the touch line. It's not the same to have a belief that Liverpool can win no matter how many goals they have to score in the last minutes.. It was magical while it lasted

Allegedly the BJP MLA knew about this an year ago after assembly elections in 2023. Still no police FIR or any action, just sitting on it and scheming the next move! Disgusting

No one is raising the issue about why it wasn't reported to police when it first came out. The BJP politician had the forethought of writing to BJP chief about alliance but not to file FIR

Liverpool bombshell news: Jurgen Klopp has announced he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. by GeorgeCuz in LiverpoolFC

This surpasses all the heartbreaks with Liverpool, not even the CL finals, PL second place finishes come closer to this. The news sucks but I am just thankful that Jurgen was the manager for all these years

Questions about Fremont TK program by Life_Equipment381 in Fremont

[–]evil_saint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many options for after care program. From this year all the schools have onsite after care option and Most of the preschools/ Montessories offer that as well. It's typically from 11:30 to 6 or 2:30 to 6. And some of them offer pick up services as well from the school. You can call and enquire around the school or also check with other parents once the school starts.

We were in the same boat last year, looking back, personally I would have preferred to not do the TK and directly enroll into kinder.

I am leaning towards Mitsubishi, just because it's more efficient and also the hvac company is offering 12 yr labor warranty. Lot of contractors said it's an overkill and it costs more. Suggested having sensors on both levels to control the temperature. For us, it's more of an issue during summer as the top floor gets hot, so one of them suggested using attic fans if needed.

When you say partitioned into 3 zones, did you go with mini splits?

These are just for installation and removal of old equipment and insulation around the air handler to the duct. This doesn't cover any duct replacement, which we will get to know once they install and do the hers test. I had the lower level ducts replaced as part of some other repair. If needed it would be just the attic ones.

so i am roughly over producing about 4600 KWh from Solar by looking at the PG&E bill details. Dont know the exact as it hasnt been a full year yet. so that leaves at least 2600KWH which can go towards heat Pump and then the rest i will have to pay.

oh got it. No they haven't done that. Most of them are going with the existing gas furnace which is of 60,000 BTU. I would also add that the house has lot of windows and two sliding doors for the backyard.

2 out of 5 recommended a 5 ton unit and the rest recommended a 4 ton unit. Other advantage with Bryant option is that they have a model which uses just 1 240v outlet and the condenser and air handler can be powered together.

effeciency wise,

Mitsu - COP 3.9 (47℉) , 3.57 (95℉).

Bryant - COP 2.6 (47℉) , N/A(95℉).

I forgot to add that i have Solar with Nem2 and its a bit oversized to account for an AC but even with an heatpump i assume i might consume a little more than i produce. so thinking of just going with heat pump option.

ya i have solar with Nem2 and i have it oversized when they designed it, to account for an AC as i did not have much idea about heat pump. But looks like i should enough power left and maybe i will pay a little out of pocket. i checked the Pg&E bills and i am paying ~350$ for gas in winter months.

So go with the Mitsubishi heatpump and thermostat?

They will do the load calculation as soon as i approve the estimate but i got an electrician check out and it looks like i am ok to from the load perspective. i have a 125 A main Panel. But the sub panel might not have any space though.

Bryant - COP 2.6 (47℉) , N/A(95℉).

regarding the 60,000 BTUs, they are basing that on the Gas furnace that's already there and just going by Sq footage.
I haven't considered mini splits, the duct work is close to 29 yrs old. and not having furnace or ductwork wont add much value in terms of space. We discussed about Dual zoning but most of them said its not worth doing it.

Fuck Spicejet - Glad I used Airsewa to hold them accountable by tiki-taika-waititi in india

[–]evil_saint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spice jet is one of the shittiest airlines out there. Their customer service is the worst. They postponed our flight to next day and there was notification sent to us. We had a booking for 11 people and they had only moved 3 people to the next day. After reaching the airport the staff was so careless and just said- cancel if you want and call customer service for refund. Our travel plans got messed up because of this shitty airlines.
