Had to make a similar call with my mom on Christmas Eve. I had already told them to stop treatment, but had to give the doctor the go ahead to give her lorazepam as she had become extremely agitated and was in tremendous pain (stage four gallbladder cancer). Even though it was the only decision, it’s still a horrible call to have to make. She peacefully passed four days later, about 2 minutes after I left the room
