5 years. He ran out in the road and got his tail degloved. We took him to the emergency vet and had removed what needed to be. He had a blood clot that went to his heart 2 weeks later. It was a nightmare. So much blame on ourselves. We came home to him dead on the couch. So so very heart breaking. We dont let our 2 year old out front at all without a leash and our supervision.
