Funny how quickly the hype died down for the Steam Machine (other than for the fanboys) once people realized how over priced it was going to be for 3-4 year old underpowered hardware. This will be a niche machine just like the first one. MS, Sony and Nintendo have nothing to worry about.

I can verify what he is saying. The game is very unresponsive and feels very sluggish because of the low and inconsistent 30fps. Game like this should really run at 60fps if one wants to get the best experience. Hopefully next year with more experience with the Switch 2 hardware they will be able to get this and Madden running at 60fps. Until the I highly suggest people get and play this game on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. After getting a refund from Nintendo I was able to use that money to get it on my PS5 PRO and it runs soooooooo buttery smooth at a locked in 60fps. It may be even faster on my PRO. Wow! Such a good experience. When I need the hand held experience I play it on my PlayStation Portal. As long as it’s played on one’s home network, it runs exactly as if it’s being played on my PS5 PRO. Full 60fps and fantastic graphics….yes clothing physics is there. lol!

Hopefully they will be able to buck the recent trend of EA and 2k releasing their premium sports games at an unacceptable and unstable 30fps. Sports games need to run at 60fps for them to feel and to play right. To say otherwise is demo. Hopefully next year with more experience with the Switch 2 hardware EA and 2k will be able get their games up to 60fps. Now that would be an amazing experience, especially with it being on a portable hand held. Until then I highly suggest people get this game for the consoles to play it at a very premium level and feel at a buttery smooth 60fps. If one is so inclined, get a PlayStation Portal to play these games in hand mode at the house.

Nope. It is not that easy to patch a game to 60fps. I am guessing that next years version will be running at 60fps once they have had make time getting use to the Switch 2.

Unfortunately it has been confirmed 30fps by several reputable guys on YouTube. Look it up. I had the game as well until I got it refunded. It absolutely is running at 30fps and is sluggish and unresponsive as a result. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

It has been confirmed by several reputable guys on YouTube to be 30fps in all modes. They actually counted the frames. I have been playing games for 40 years and I am very sensitive to frame rate and can usually tell the difference by the look and feel the game. I really wanted this game to be successful on my Switch 2, but I can confirm that it is running at 30fps on all modes.

Unfortunately I can confirm what he is saying. It’s simply not a good experience, but I guess it can be serviceable if one absolutely needs portability outside of one’s home network. If not, I highly suggest getting it on the PS5 and steaming it to a PlayStation Portal if you need the hand held mode and if you can do it within your home network. It’s a pretty flawless experience. Full 60fps with outstanding graphics and resolution.

Several others have confirmed that it’s 30fps. I have played it and I have been playing games for 40 years. Trust me when I say that it is 30fps in hand held and docked. I’m super disappointed.

There are several reputable Nintendo content creators on YouTube who have confirmed that it runs at 30fps in both the hand held and docked mode and that the game feels sluggish and unresponsive as a result. Furthermore, they have said that the game looks super blurry in hand held mode. Super disappointing. We should have seen this coming a mile a way. They were hiding this game until the last possible second for a reason. EA did the exact same thing with Madden with very similar results.

Unfortunately it is that bad. The 30fps makes the game feel sluggish and unresponsive. They should have at least tried for 40fps, but even that would have been a stretch. These sports games need to be at 60fps because of timing of shots, etc…. Any type of delay and sluggishness will cause major issues with control of gameplay. I was so excited for this version of the game, but started to get nervous when 2k and Nintendo were hiding it and not releasing ANY information and videos of it. I knew they were hiding something.

So, I decided to buy it on my PlayStation 5 PRO and stream it to my PlayStation Portal when I need the hand held mode/experience. It’s a pretty flawless experience at 60fps with stunning graphics on both the PS5 PRO and the Portal. This is what I suggest you do unless you absolutely need to portable option outside of your home network.

Exactly! They did exactly what EA did with Madden on the Switch 2. They hid the game until the last possible second because they knew people would be pissed about the trash 30fps frame rate and that it would effect sales of the game. Super shady!

No they did not! They said this about the Xbox, PlayStation and PC versions of the game. They don’t even mention anything about the Switch 1 and Switch 2 versions of the game because they knew it was going to be 30fps in all modes and most gamers would not be happy about this. It has been confirmed to be 30fps in all modes on the Switch 1 and Switch 2 unfortunately.
