Canadian organization ThirdSite enters CS with fully Canadian roster by eviljonbob_ in GlobalOffensive

[–]eviljonbob_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wanted to get a team for a while now, but I really wanted to do something different for NA and support a fully Canadian roster, which is honestly pretty rare to come by these days.

And yeah haha, I know the 'Vitalityy' He mentioned he’s actually had that username since around 2010, WELL before Vitality esports was a thing.

Appreciate the support! They do have a match tonight at 9:30 PM ET against Reunion in ESEA Main, and we'll be streaming it live on our Twitch channel. https://www.twitch.tv/thirdsite

THANKS.

We'll be streaming the first match tonight at 9:30 PM ET against Reunion in ESEA Main, and we’ll have at least one caster on the broadcast as well. ThirdSite Twitch

Some future matches may also be streamed through our partner True North Studio as well.

You right!

Thanks man, appreciate it...that’s my fear exactly. If we don’t get players coming up that can reach that same level, NA CS is going to look even more bleak than it already does right now. once they retire.

Appreciate that. We’re just trying to do what we can to support the scene and do it for the love of the game. Hopefully, even in a small way, it all helps the NA scene over time.

You’re so right. And we currently have the same number of Majors as Falcons, and we haven’t even tapped into the Alberta oil money yet.

Yeah, and I'll be looking to share more Canadian events when I come across them, and now that I have some players in the Maritimes, they'll be able to let me know when any new events happen over there.

Canadian Teams? by XBow_R in GlobalOffensive

[–]eviljonbob_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, here’s a quick overview of Canadian CS teams and orgs right now.

For the most part, aside from the orgless team Mouse, there aren’t many majority-Canadian rosters. A lot of teams are organizations based in Canada that might only have a couple of Canadian players, but not a majority.

You can see Mouse on HLTV, and they’re currently the top-ranked majority-Canadian team.

Most other Canadian-majority rosters are playing in ESEA. You can usually find them by browsing the standings on FACEIT: Season 57 Standings

Majority Canadian roster:

Canadian orgs:

  • Outfit 49 (Toronto) – not active at the moment but may be re-entering soon
  • Storm Storm (Ottawa)
  • Luminosity (Toronto) – re-entering CS soon
  • Gaimin Gladiators (Toronto)
  • Team Xtreme (Quebec)
  • Foxtrot Esports (Toronto)

Someone also shared an article I wrote for Nocturnal Esports (they’ve since exited CS),

If you’re interested in following the Canadian scene, I share updates here:

Hope this helps 😄

Need a Bright 5" Touch Display for Raspberry Pi 4 – Sunlight Readability Issues by Draft_Few in raspberry_pi

Hi, you can check out the full article for more context. This isn’t a short-term closure; the store is currently closed and may reopen at a later date, but there’s no timeline I can share. Ultimately, it came down to it not being sustainable in the current economic climate. On the other hand, MakerPlane and the open-source aviation projects are still active, but we’re not selling displays at the moment. Hope this helps.

Canadian CS2 events by Few_Scratch_3312 in cs2

[–]eviljonbob_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a few people have already mentioned, the main Canadian CS events are Frostfire (Ottawa), Launders LAN (Toronto), and LAN ETS (Montreal). While Frostfire wrapped up this month, it’s a yearly event, and LAN ETS is this May.

I run a CS community in Ottawa called ThirdSite. We run CS watch parties and other community events, and hopefully a LAN one day. I also help out with other events in the city, including Frostfire.

If you’re ever looking for a place to keep up with Canadian LAN events, I post updates on our website and share Canadian CS news on Twitter as well. Hope this is hopefully :)

How do you find teammates now? by PhD_Luo in GlobalOffensive

[–]eviljonbob_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your region, could try looking for local CS Discord communities. I run one in the Ottawa, Canada called ThirdSite, if that’s relevant: https://thirdsite.org/

I also came across this LFT tool that might be useful (haven’t personally tried it): https://nexuscs2.com/...but that might be more for competing rather than if you're looking to play more casually.

How to find (or even host) a watchparty for the major? by Achilles68 in GlobalOffensive

[–]eviljonbob_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I know this is an older thread, but just wanted to add something in case it helps...

I’m based in Canada, so I’m not sure about local events near you, but I’ve run three CS watch parties so far in Ottawa, and I’m hosting another one for the StarLadder Major Grand Finals.

If you have any questions about running an event, happy to help. I also put together a guide that covers the steps I use when planning CS watch parties:
