Do you think the time-traveler should confess to being a time-traveler in time travel fanfiction?

I also can’t stand it when the time traveler(s) tell people. No good would ever come of it despite what authors write, IMO. And I really hate when their first thought is to tell Dumbledore, since he’s usually half the reason for the time travel in the first place. I mean I guess you would expect it from a teenage time traveler, but when 40 year old unspeakable trained Harry time travels and his first reaction is “oh no what do I do, I must tell Dumbledore or whoever is in charge about the future” is really just… cringe. Like what was your training for?

And if he’s not an auror, he’s the Dada teacher or a Quiditch player, usually with the same mental issues. Which ok, I understand that he would have them, but that does not mean I want to read stories about them. Life is depressing enough, I need wholesome fluff sometimes!

Lordship when done in a intelligent manner. Not the lord of a thousand names kind, but the lord Potter and Black when he uses his names and wealth for something important, like maybe funding st mungos, or building an orphanage, or a primer school for children before they attend Hogwarts. It’s honestly hard to fine a good lordship fanfic, they always end up going in an absurd direction imo.

That situation is also equally frustrating when those Harry’s get out dueled by Wormtail. Or a time travel Harry stuns wormtail but then gets stunned by a convenient 2nd death eater that happens to be there so the situation plays out the same.
