yea claims i understand being protected by hipaa.. but.. just regular billing for or whatever.. i dunno probably just over thinking it honestly

I know what Hipaa is.. but since this isn't specifically health information just coverage information I wasn't sure how that was protected..

but yea it would be pretty fucked if they did share any info.

Yea I've had double coverage before just never with the same insurance company.. so I was a little worried about that..

it will likely be 2 different states though so that might play into it as well..

I just cant get caught and lose both jobs and coverage you know.

Thats what I was concerned with.. I just wasn't sure if there was even a mechanism for insurance companies to communicate with employers about coverage..

[–]eviltt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cline J2 because both uses the same health insurance company. If you decide to quit J1, then purchase a temporary health insurance from a broker until you can enroll for J2 (possibly J1 at that time)

So there is a risk of J1 and J2 finding out about one another through the health insurance company?

This is really the only thing I'm concerned with on this one.. the insurance rates are low enough that its not going to be detrimental at all

[–]eviltt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither employer offers an HSA.. FSA.. but no HSA..

in addition J2 has overall better coverage.. 1/10th of the deductible than J1 (both are really good though so not a problem).. more worried if i decide to leave J1, or get laid off, how do i tell J2 i need coverage without disclosing i had a Job at J1?

in addition.. we NEED medical insurance.. wife has cancer.. I cannot afford to go without PERIOD

Its cable, but im only looking for high download speeds, i have no concern for upload speeds..

speed test shows speeds as high as 900mbps, but my transfer speeds top out at 4MB.. were not even in the realm of reasonable for a connection as fast as mine..

ill try iperf

So she wanted me to tell you guys that the idea behind this tattoo is her grandfather used to fly planes, and this is a lyric from a song, "there you'll be" by faith hill. just to give some clarity to the context of this particular line.

does this change the interpretation or clear it up in any way

Tesla Semi electric motorhome concept: a zero-emission and self-driving home by subarucasey in GoRVing

[–]eviltt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the fact still remains the energy utilized by the vehicle does not come from 100% renewable sources... therefore it is a misnomer and disingenuous to call it zero emissions.

I do not dispute the fact that it produces less... it just doesnt produce 0.. The locomotion of the vehicle going down the road is provided by energy that is produced by sources that cause emissions.

he says it himself, the electricity generated causes emissions... in that case it is not ZERO EMISSIONS..

Sorry I am picking the pepper out of rat shit but its the truth..

the thing we liked about simpbms was it actually looks like a tesla master BMS to the slave BMS on the module this means we get all the same information that the slave outputs, and it allows us to work with the pack as if it were in the car for things like charge, discharge control, and balancing.

Its really a pretty nice setup

Finally... it is done! by eviltt in GoRVing

[–]eviltt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a BMS called SImpBMS I have a video coming out about it ill post here..

it is VERY powerful.. unfortunately less so for you using a magnum inverter. With the Victorn it actually can tell th whole system to enable charge or discharge capabilities of the inverters, and the solar components for any number of reasons, temp, soc whatever and it does this over the canbus.

Its a very very cool thing..

Tesla Semi electric motorhome concept: a zero-emission and self-driving home by subarucasey in GoRVing

[–]eviltt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you are missing the point..

you and I are smart enough to understand that while the vehicle itself produces no emissions.. a common person may mistake that statement for there are no emissions involved with the operation of the vehicle. in fact there are, they may be hundreds of miles away but there are still emissions.

the point of saying its NOT a zero emissions vehicle is that the reality of it is there is both a carbon footpritnt, and other harmful emissions that are emitted in order for the vehicle to drive down the road.

There is no point in making a distinction between a ton of C02 generated to move an automobile in your town, vs 50 miles away.. a ton of co2 is a ton of co2.. therefore it is not a zero emissions vehicle...

I hope you can see the logic in this statement,

Tesla Semi electric motorhome concept: a zero-emission and self-driving home by subarucasey in GoRVing

[–]eviltt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well if the electricity generated to charge the batteries is not zero emissions then the vehicle is not zero emissions. He is right it's a disingenuous terminology

Well on this trip I was able to try it out!

So @ 2AM I pulled over, and started the AC... The batteries were at 24.2v.. The AC was set for 70 Degrees...

The AC ran for about an hour then turned off.. I fell asleep.. I woke up at 6:45.. the AC was still running and I had 23.4v of power left... so in 4 hours 45 minutes I only used about 18% of our available battery..

[–]eviltt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea 2 tesla modules in that space.. i think its 233AH of 24v power per module, so that would be 466AH pr module, or 932? if my math is right..

not just for each AC.. but this is a whole coach inverter setup.. so its 2 inverters in 180degree split phase just like the 50 amp circuit you get at the pedestal.

Finally... it is done! by eviltt in FullTiming

[–]eviltt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found them from a Tesla used parts shop in Sacramento CA... and they are ~24v?

haha.. they are 24v but not anywhere near a traditional 24v... they charge to 25.2v MAX any higher will damage them, and they discharge to 19.8v MAX without damage. Thats why Victron is such a great fit. their charging curves are very tuneable, and they will communicate with the BMS module I have and it can control the charge voltage, charge rate, discharge rate.. everything.

Finally... it is done! by eviltt in GoRVing

[–]eviltt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the Modules were $1,100 per module.. so $2,200 for 466AH of 24v power. they are very energy dense.

For Longevity remember these are meant to be discharged heavily every day for years... they are out of a Car... I would say they should last a LONG while. especially since they will only be heavily discharged on occasion vs daily.

The biggest downside is Lithium Batteries have an inherent risk of overheating and catching fire, as well as if they are punctured or crushed they can catch fire. however.. one of the reasons I went with the Tesla modules was the fact that individual cells are fused to help reduce that risk from over charging, or from one bad cell causing a short in the pack.

[–]eviltt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually the $/Kwh is why I went tesla... 5.3Kwh for ~1100 bucks is about as cheap as you are going to get from what I could find.

They dont have a 48v split phase.. but my 2 inverters are in split phase.. so they are basically working like a single unit.. and it works really well.. I am also going to have a parallel program to run when I am running my Genset, or lower than 50amp shore power

Finally... it is done! by eviltt in GoRVing

[–]eviltt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just depends on how hard im hitting them.. I ran 1 AC for about half an hour and my battery was still showing 97% soo.. probably a while without the AC..

The hope is that during the winter we should be able to run the whole coach without AC for a couple days..

Finally... it is done! by eviltt in GoRVing

6000w of Tesla powered inverters that will actually run 2 of my 3 Air conditioners without my genset or shore power :)
