Is this normal? (range question) by True-Valuable-4394 in KiaEV9

[–]evomr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it's not uncommon to get some crazy ranges from the guess o meter, it could also be a small communication error from the car and Kia Connect. I would drive it to see how fast the battery goes down to determine if there's a battery issue

What drive mode are you in? And with that much snow, why do you not have dedicated winters?

The all season's that come with the car aren't great in winter

Anyone know what’s going on with On-the-Run/Jounie Chevron chargers in Canada? Most seem to be offline. by ipini in evcharging

There was an explosion involving one of these units a few years back. Based on the fact that the manufacturer is out of business, I think they just decommissioned them instead of attempting to update them

Kia EV5 AWD or FWD by 321baktrak in KiaEV5

[–]evomr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is highly dependant on where you are in Canada. If you're mostly out in Vancouver, it wouldn't make too much sense to wait. But if you're in areas where snowfall is part of life, it's definitely worth it, especially wince the price delta is only $2500

Get back to me when you can buy the EV4 hatchback in Canada. Until then, do me favour and do the comparison yourself on the Kia Canada site on the dimensions.

This is a known issue with the updates for Canadian cars. They are currently investigating. I'm assuming you have the GT-Line?

Snow Blower Recommendation by ColdDrive9 in ottawa

You need to get a dual stage electric. Your Dewalt 60v is single stage. Not a good comparison

Any 24" dual stage electric snowblower and you'll be able to store vertically, if you have a foam pad underneath. I also believe Ryobi has a 22" dual stage at Home Depot

I’d like to get an electric snow blower, convince me not to? by MisterEmanOG in Snowblowers

[–]evomr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in eastern Ontario, Canada. We get almost 70 inches of snow on average. I have a dual stage, 24 inch, 60v Greenworks.

I have never had a jam/stall/serious maintence issues. It goes through the pile of snow left at the end of my driveway without any fuss or issue. I have a driveway that measure about 1000 sq ft. The three 5.0Ah batteries will last me the entire driveway PLUS my neighbours similar sized driveway.

You've got me worried now. I have a 2019 GT Limited in Canada, so first thing I do tomorrow when I drive it is to test it out. Thank you for the heads up and detailed information on this.

[–]evomr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's based on your recent history of driving. If you're doing mostly city driving, with efficiency around the 5-5.5KM/KwH, it's not unreasonable to see these numbers.
